[ This is a world where the twins never swapped places.
And that's why this is Shion, who's in Okinomiya for a visit on a day off from classes in St. Lucia's--just roaming the streets to get some nice, fresh air. But of course because she isn't entirely paying attention to her surroundings, she bumps into one of the motorcycles. ]

[ Shit.
She's probably gonna get what's coming to her now, and she'll even be defenseless... her eyes dart left and right, trying to come up with some way to escape, possibly-- ]

But he doesn't need to know someone to stick up for them. When he hears the sound of crashing, followed by some angry demands, he doesn't even need to know what's going on to rush to someone's aid. ]
"Hey! What the fuck do you think you're doin', you bitch?!? Do you know how expensive those bikes are?!? How the fuck are you gonna pay us back for all these scratches, huh?!?"
[ So, when he sees three goons advancing on a hapless girl, he suddenly steps in between them, grabbing an arm that looked like it was about to reach out for the girl. ]
What kind of tough guys are you, thinking you can just threaten a girl like that?!? Get the hell out of here, you bastards, or I'll be cleaning your teeth out of my shoes for the next three weeks!!!
[ It's an incredibly risky move, but he yells his threat with so much rage and passion behind it that it actually causes the ruffians to flinch. He puts all of his strength into squeezing the arm he has gripped, trying not to let on that this is about all he's capable of doing.
Thankfully, the commotion has caught the attention of some other townspeople. The ruffians take one look at the crowd getting ready to step in if needed, then quickly disperse. ]
"What the hell... shit, these people are crazy! Come on, let's get out of here!"
[ It's only the ruffians beat a hasty retreat that Keiichi manages to deflate, breathing out a sigh of relief. ]
Sorry about that. They didn't hurt you, did they?
[ He turns to the girl, not yet having gotten a look at her. ]

[ Her voice is rather timid as she fiddles with her fingers, ducking her head in silence because she earnestly did not know what she could have done in that position--she's not like her older sister, who knows how to probably intimidate and fight them off, even if she could probably pretend for a second to be like her.
After all, they're twins.
But she's not really looking at the person who's saved her just yet, although for some reason the voice sounds strangely familiar... ]
I'm fine, though, they didn't do anything. Thank you, Kei-chan.

Why did that name pop up when she had to thank him? She doesn't understand, but she can't take it back now. ]

[ Come to think of it, why does she seem familiar to him? Is she someone he met once before? ...No, that's impossible. He'd remember meeting a girl that cute. ]

[ Almost immediately, she flusters, her face turning a bright red as she tries to scramble for something, anything - she honestly wants to perish. Why is she the one that has to deal with this? ]

[ Her story doesn't really check out, but then again... maybe she goes to school with him or something and heard someone say his name? Whatever the case, it sounded... familiar to him. Like someone else had called him that, but... calling a guy "Kei-chan" would be a way of teasing him, wouldn't it? ]
Well, I'm glad you're alright. ...And I'm glad those guys didn't call my bluff.
[ He smiles sheepishly, tongue poking out of his mouth as he rubs the back of his head. ]

[ Gosh, she's laughing so awkwardly. But she's relieved that he doesn't seem to push it too hard, which is a relief, something that causes her shoulders to relax. ]
Anyway, ah... I should at least do something to thank you... one of my uncles runs a store around here, so maybe I can convince him to treat you out for helping me...

[ He smiles, as if it's a perfectly natural thing to say. And, for some reason, instinct dictates that he reach his hand out, to this total stranger that he's never met before, and places his hand upon her head to pat it gently. ]

For some reason, her cheeks blossom into a dark scarlet, clearly flustered. But she doesn't seem to push his hand away. Instead, she feels that same sense of familiarity, as if this has happened before.

[ He smiles, his cheeks a little red, though not nearly so much as hers. He reaches out to stroke the top of her head again, as if it feels right. His heart's racing, yet he just can't help himself. ]
