( closed ) the second magic shenanigans are real
[ It was strange, suddenly having a small girl appear at his doorstep. He had been already received the explanation from Tohsaka that this girl had time traveled, perhaps even leaped through parallel worlds. Although Shirou didn't comprehend it entirely, it was definitely... unusual. Which is why he didn't have much of a choice but to take her in for the time being.
Well, Fuji-nee definitely threw a fit the first time, but after explaining that she didn't have a place to stay, she eventually calmed down. She was just a little girl, after all. Besides, Fuji-nee understood that Shirou just didn't want someone who was abandoned to be left on her own. It wouldn't do, now would it? Which is why Shirou decided to keep her around.
It was only right.
She's been around for a few days, so during lunch (they were alone together) Shirou had decided to cook up a gyudon donburi, curry rice, salmon. He's used to making huge meals, so hopefully it's not too much. And please try not to sneak any wine in the meantime, Rika... ]
Tell me if it's too heavy. I'm not used to making food for just two people.
[ Emiya Shirou: true housewife. ]

Rika was lucky to find other people who was experienced the supernatural, but she didn't feel that lucky. Having lost her friends to the syndrome again, it was enough to send her into a slump. To top it off she was thrown into another strange world and time. She only talked when it was necessary. ]
Mii, thank you sir...
[ She glanced down at the food, remembering the times she used to cook for just two. It was hard to grasp that she wouldn't be able to go shopping. If only she could down some wine, it would help dull these worries from her. ]

[ There's a beat of his stilled heart as he picks up his chopsticks and easily says grace before slowly beginning to eat. It was growing rather quiet, and that made tensions grow rather high. Normally he wouldn't ask. He shouldn't ask, and yet-- ]
Do you want to talk, Rika? [ About her world, about where she's from, about anything. ] I don't know how much I'll be able to help, but I do want to help you.
[ His words were clear cut and honest. He wanted to become a Hero of Justice. Maybe this was a place to start. ]

[ She'll nod understanding his request. She'll pick up her chopsticks and do the the same, while thinking about how Satoko was doing back in her world. Was she cooking by herself now and eating her vegetables?
His sudden question ripped her off her own thoughts about her old world. Wondering whether to answer this person. ]
I'm fine really.
[ Nope. The last time she thought she had confided in, that person got shot and died. ]

[ Those words are stern, coming from him. He's not a complete idiot, he can tell when someone's in pain, even if it may not be evident. ]
I can help. I plan on becoming a Hero of Justice, so I can't just sit here while someone's in clear pain.
[ He probably sounds silly, but it's fine. If those words can get her to reach out to him... then so be it. ]

[ She'll blink at that comment of his, but it was enough to focus her attention on him. Hearing such a title made her remember the titles of the club members. Tanuki, Magician of Words... ]
What justice? That sounds so silly.

[ He nods in response to Rika's words, pressing his lips together firmly. ]
My justice... I guess you can say- it's something where there's nobody bad in the world. I work to achieve that. I don't want to see anybody sad, or anybody cry. And that's what I fought for. That's what I still fight for. That's why I want to help you.
Even if it's silly for other people, I think it's the right thing to do. "I want to save everyone". That's my wish.

Save everyone you say.
Even if your own friends try to kill you?

But they probably have a reason to. I'd find out that reason and stop them.

[ Maybe she can talk to this person. Though her experience has always been failure and death, could he survive being killed over and over to save everyone? ]
Even if you die in the process?

Thank you. I used to think the same way, until I realized it wasn't worth it. Every time I try, I end up dying in the end after all.
So it's hard trying to save everyone knowing that they will either kill you or anyone else.

[ He feels as if there's something caught up in his throat when she answers, and that just causes him to open his mouth, and then close it, pressing his lips together in what seems to be frustration. Shirou's hazel gaze flits downwards, for a moment as he mulls things over in his head before he looks directly at her again. ]
You're wrong, you know. [ Shirou is going to cut through those words of hers. ]
It's only not worth it if you don't save anyone in the end. But I'm not like that. I plan on saving everyone. I'll find a way to do it without them having to kill me, or anybody else. No matter how impossible it may seem.
