[ This feels pretty weird to him, especially the part where she's able to hear him just talking to his computer. He's more used to physical games than digital ones, and it's kind of hard to give himself an advantage in anything on the computer... so, maybe he should at least pick something that gives him a fighting chance. ]

Umm... how about a shooting game? One of the ones where you fight off waves of enemies in a spaceship or something...

[ He thinks he's pretty good at those, anyway. He recognizes the enemies' patterns right away. ]

Oh, you must mean Space Invaders. It's one of my favorite games.

[ As she says that, she places fingers towards her hair clip to show exactly that before suddenly, a popup window with the game on it appears. ]

... You can be player one.

[ her head feels like it's spinning and she's not sure how to reply. Because this can't be real, right? Shirou's a nice guy and a spectacular cook, but he can't be anything more than that, can he? Not more than a normal person? The very idea of him being involved in something strange or peculiar like this is like trying to imagine Kotori outing herself as a magical girl. It just wouldn't happen.

But she doesn't get any of these words, doesn't understand any of the concepts he's throwing around. And if this was a dream, she'd make up something she could understand, right?

So this has to be real. ]

Emiya-kun...

[ she's staring at him with wide eyes, slowly lifting her shaking hands. ]

... Why...

[ ... aaaaand then she's grabbing his face and pinching and stretching his cheeks. ]

Why didn't you tell me any of this before, you dummy?!

[ It's the only word that she can muster as her dark brown eyes widen, blankly staring at him. That smile is enough to get her worked up already and even more than that, it's one of the many things about him that easily get her to blush. ]

Can you... say that one more time? [ She inwardly curses herself for asking so timidly, fingers awkwardly tugging at the hem of her skirt. But she also wants to get in some sort of reaction from his end as well so she adds, albeit somewhat timidly: ] ... Master?

[ Well, she is wearing a maid outfit. ]

You mean the two of us and Pikachu. [ Ash corrects him as the yellow rodent on his shoulder chirps in agreement. ]

Well, Team Rocket always tries to steal Pikachu, but nobody usually tries to attack me for being able to use aura...

Wha-- [ That was definitely not what he expected, coming from her — but he manages to speak, his cheeks still stretched out. ]

L-Like I told you, I didn't want you to get hurt.

But what if I got hurt because something happened, and I did't know about it? Or I wandered into something dangerous because I didn't know any better to keep out?

[ she's self-aware enough, at least, to know that she's an expert at finding trouble which she only imagines is tenfold with magic involved. ]

I thought we were supposed to trust each other! At least enough to be able to let me in on something this important!!

[ Rei's own words come off easily; she knows that she's playing the role of Yu today, even though she knows that young boy is dead.

When she says let's go, she places her own hand in Mitsuki's, a bright smile playing across the girl's features. ]

[ That's... different. He shakes his head, just thinking about it. His heart feels crushed in his chest and he wants any thoughts that she'd hate him for this out of his head. ]

I won't let that happen, Kousaka. I want to protect you, so I couldn't tell you. Because people like you, who don't know about magic-- if the Mage's Association finds out that you know about it, then-- I can't let that happen.

Ah. Yeah, that's right. Sorry buddy. [ he'll scratch the back of his head. how could he forget about that yellow mouse? he wasn't used to partners being... actually there in front of you. ]

Well you're lucky then in some ways. I wish I can talk to my partner the same way you can.

[Mitsuki herself had killed him. It had been surprisingly easy--but for the moment, that's forgotten. The hand in hers felt warm, real. All that matters is that she's having a good day. Mitsuki gives Rei's hand a squeeze.]

I'd go anywhere with you.

[ Well, she's definitely going to get a reaction because he nearly drops his bag in surprise, his face immediately turning bright red. ]

M-Master...? [ Yuuri shakes his head, hoping that it will help calm down his heartbeat. It doesn't.

But she did ask him to say it again, so he's going to. He's determined, if nothing else at least. ] Y-You look really cute. [ It comes out much weaker this time, but it's still just as sincere. ]

W--well-- it's happened now, hasn't it? You should've at least told me something! Even if you'd just let me know there was something you couldn't tell me, that would've been enough! That would've been just fine for me!

[ she's hurt, more than anything. she understands his protectiveness, his fear, but it hurts that he wouldn't trust her enough to at least let her into some of this. And now... well, now it's too late, isn't it? ]

[ She can't hide the smirk that plays upon her features nor can she hide the light laughter that follows as she sees that all too perfect reaction. She wants to see more things like that, so she takes a step forward, closer to him. ]

Yeah. I think I like that. [ Swinging her arms behind her playfully, she can't stop herself from smiling. Nor can she stop the blush that creeps onto her cheeks. ] But yeah. You're the only one here, and I'm wearing this, so... you have to be my master, right?

[ What is this craziness? How is she doing this to his computer?!? Does he even have a microphone?!? He doesn't know the answers to any of these questions, and instead, he finds himself compelled to start shooting lasers at aliens instead of, say, turning on his anti-virus or something. ]

Alright! But I've never lost a game to anyone!

[ The club might not go to the arcade a whole lot, but that's just because that's the one thing he can reliably win at, so it doesn't feel fair. But he's not holding back anymore now. ]

I won't lose, either.

[ Her voice is full of determination and confidence that would normally be unbefitting of a girl with a near monotonous voice. ]

Whenever you're ready to start, just hit the enter key. You'll keep going until your first life is depleted, and then it'll switch. Unless you prefer the style where we're playing the same map at the same time? I don't mind doing that.

I'd rather get to the most competitive style! Besides, you might be waiting for a long time if we take turns, so put us both on the same playing field!

[ He sounds so enthusiastic and confident. It's like he doesn't know he's about to get rekt. ]

[ There's a pause, and then, a smile. ]

Okay! I'll do that immediately. [ She huffs, looking rather proud of herself as she sets it up. There, that should be okay, right? ]

Just start whenever you're ready and I'll follow suit.

[ He'll soon find out just how good she is at this game once he does. Considering her talent as a gamer, it's ridiculously easy to get through levels without getting hit and getting all the shots in one go without missing. ]

Alright! Get ready to face the fury of Kei, alien invaders!

[ He's impressed by how quickly she's able to reconfigure the game. He wonders if maybe she's some sort of game programmer herself... but then, he's in the middle of it, firing at the enemies, and that's what holds his concentration.

His strategy's pretty simple, but effective: lots of leading shots. He actually thinks he's doing well, but only because he doesn't notice that she's taking out more than her share of the enemies with pinpoint precision. ]

[ She's actually rather amused by his remarks, but soon enough— ]

... This level's cleared.

[ That was fast. Way too fast, actually. Of course, she has to wait for Keiichi to complete his part of the level, too. ]

[ He's just now mopping up his half, having needed one to three shots to take out each enemy as opposed to just her one. And he can't help but stare in disbelief as he realizes just how quickly she finished her half. ]

Wh-What?!? Already?!?

[ He grits his teeth in grim determination. He's never been pushed this hard at a video game before... Mion usually just aims straight ahead without regard for the enemies' motion, Satoko can never get the timing quite right, and Rena thinks the aliens are too cute to shoot. Now, he has real competition. ]

It doesn't matter! I'll just have to do even better on the next one! Bring it on!

... Already. [ She mirrors the word that he said without much of a shift in her expression or reaction, her hand clearly gripped on what seems to be an arcade stick. ]

When it comes to games, I'm pretty confident in them.

[ Which seems to be clearly apparent as she can clear the levels with ease. ]

[ She says this with the most calm voice that she can muster. ]

[ Pikachu chirps, clearly not offended by this matter in the slightest bit. It's fine, it's fine. ]
