2015's almost over in just a few days, so let's go out with a bang! And by that, of course I mean it's time for the final shipping hell open roleplaying post of 2015. It's a do a whatever, whenever kind of post with no rules besides "if it fits, it ships" and honestly? I'm not too picky. ♥

I'm game for pretty much anything, whether it be general shipping or a little more than that. Even if we've never done a ship before, let's go! Assumed CR, AUs, what have you? That's all fine by me. I'm also willing to play out game CRAUs. Literally anything goes. If you want to try out a new ship, here's the place for the end of the year shebang.

I can, but I can't at the same time. [ The boy will sigh trying to come up with a reasonable explanation. ]

You see, my partner was already... dead. He protected the world and ended up becoming a spirit of some sort until I found him surrounded by flames. We connected somehow in that fire and since then I've been using his form to help save the world. I'm his host so to speak.

So I could talk to him through my digivice, but that would guarantee only a vague answer like a shake of his head or something.

Yeah, crazy huh...

Alright, then it's on to the next level! I won't lose this time!

[ He's furiously pounding the fire button on his keyboard this time, even more determined than before. And this time, he really feels like he might have the hang of it... every shot is connecting, and he's actually doing a good job of keeping up until he misses the laser coming for his ship. Oops. ]

Crap! Where'd that come from?!?

... Ah. That's too bad.

[ Nanami, on the other hand, hasn't seemed to have lost a single life and isn't just dodging the regular lasers, but the ones that attempt to capture the ship as well because she is having none of that today, no sir.

Even though she can totally just recapture it to have twice the manpower. ]

[ That brief interruption is making it hard for him to catch back up, and even if he doesn't waste a single shot, she's still hitting the enemies with laser-like precision. At this rate, his keyboard's going to crap out on him. ]

How are you so good at this?!? Compared to you, I'm not even at an infant's level...!

[ A rare admission of defeat from him, but that doesn't mean he isn't still giving it his all. ]

Mm... I guess you can say that I memorized all the patterns for this level.

[ She says this rather matter-of-factly even as she finishes clearing her level. ]

And all the other levels.

[ He has the patterns generally memorized, or so he thinks, but she's on another level entirely. His score would be enough to make one of the other club members throw in the towel right now, but this isn't even close. ]

I guess it's a little too late to ask now, but... what happens if I don't win?

[ Now that her part of the level's cleared, he supposes he may as well take his time dispatching the remaining enemies so that he doesn't carelessly steer right into an enemy laser this time. His last two lives are precious. ]

... Then you don't win.

[ She doesn't get what specifically he's asking for, if only because her logic is rather simple. If he doesn't win, then he just doesn't win, easy as that. ]

I think, afterwards, I would say "good game", and that's it, probably.

No, I mean... [ Ah, how does he explain it to someone who isn't in the club? He kills off the last enemy, then sits back and takes a deep breath. ] ...You said you had to give me a special prize if I won, and unless we're trying to finish the game with a low score, there's no way I'm going to beat you.

[ Now, there's an idea: see who could keep their score the lowest while still surviving the game. That would be a competition he could really be creative at... but it's too late for that kind of rule change now. ]

So, it's only fair that you get a special prize if you win, right?

But playing this game with someone, I think, would be the best prize I could get. Since I haven't played with anybody... in a long time.

[ That... is an answer he wasn't expecting. He's quiet for a moment, wondering why nobody would play with her.

And then, he smiles. ]

If I win... the prize I want is to keep playing this game with you. And other games, too.

... Really? Do you really mean that?

[keichan]

That's right. Even if I lose, I'll still claim that as my reward. So, you need to think of something else, or else it's not much of a victory for you.

[ She puffs her cheeks, knitting her brow. ]

There's no rule that says I can't have the same reward. [ That's rude? Don't be rude. ] I won't lose because of that.

[ She has a reputation to uphold, after all! ]

[ Okay, with a face like that, he can't help but want to tease her a little bit. He might be weak against a cute face, but it also gives him lots of motivation to win, too. ]

Are you sure? Because you could make me take you out on a date, then still keep playing games with you anyway!

[ Okay, maybe that's what he was thinking his special prize would be. She's just too damn cute. ]

[ Thankfully, Nanami easily falls for the bait... ]

I could really ask for something like that? I've never been on a date before... but I think it would be nice, if it means we can still play games.

[keichan]

[ He was hoping she'd get flustered or embarrassed and that he might be able to use that to his advantage... but this is pretty nice, too. ]

You still have to beat me first! You can decide on your prize then.

[ He won't lose on purpose, but... if going on a date with a cute girl is his punishment... ]

[ Unfortunately for him, she doesn't get flustered that easily. Or at all, really. ]

... I'll win. I'll definitely win.

When you say it like that, it just reminds me how far behind I am...

[ Time for the next level, anyway. Maybe he needs a new strategy if he wants to stand a chance... maybe he should obliterate all of the cover in the level so that he's not the only one having to mind the incoming fire. ]

Mmm, but you're not bad at this game either, I think...?

[ Though she seems to be clearing this level with ease, just like the ones before it. ]

Really? You think so? [ Considering his opponent, he thinks of that as high praise indeed. ] Alright! I'm definitely not letting up this time!

[ And he's doing pretty good this time! Of course, he lacks that computer-like precision, but this time, he almost keeps it close. ...Almost. ]

So, are we just gonna go until one of us runs out of lives? [ LIKE THEY DON'T KNOW WHO IT'S GOING TO BE. ]

That's how it usually goes... or whoever has the highest score once all of the levels are clear if we keep our lives.

I've never made it that far... but I'm guessing you have, huh?

[ He's doing the "leaning to one side physically as he's avoiding the enemy shots" thing. He's a very animated player. ]

I'm not the kind of gamer who talks about games she hasn't finished, you know.

[ So basically, yes. Yes, she has. ]

Well... then...

[ ARGH this is a tough one. He can't even hit that flying saucer thing flying along the top of the screen this time. ]

In that case... you're gonna get me through the rest of these levels some time, right?!? I'm not gonna rest until I'm a worthy opponent for you!
