[here's the deal. somehow, based on multiverse logic, someone, out there, has managed to kidnap both akane and junpei from different times and the rules of time travel don't matter. because honestly? who cares!!!
nevertheless, they're trapped in what seems to be a very white, white room with not much in terms of things inside besides what seems to be a bed large enough for two, a dresser next to it, a bathroom and closet and even a television for some reason. there's also a door that leads out but if either of the two check it, they'll find that it's locked. as another note, both of them will note that they're wearing collars around their necks; it's like a necklace that can't be removed, but it's not on there so tightly that it's choking them.
cool.
anyway, after a minute or two has passed, the television screen flickers to what seems to be standard television lines that are just well adjusted enough that they aren't blinding. followed with that is a voice, unrecognizable by either of them, but it sounds. . . young?]
Welcome to the killi— oh, wait, wrong script. Let's try this again. Ahem. I'll be your host, Nulla, and welcome to the brand new and improved game! Um, so, a brief explanation: you're wearing a collar around your neck and in order to get that thing off, you need to escape this room!
Oh, and if you don't do it within a certain timeframe - oh, it's nine hours, just so you know! I'll kill you. That's not a joke, by the way. But don't worry, it's pretty simple to get out. On top of the bed, you'll find a note. That note has your first instructions. If you have any questions, feel free to yell them, okay? I'm always listening. ♥
[and the television flickers off after that, which makes everything quiet and a little bit awkward, if Akane doesn't say so herself.
anyway, let's just. check that note on the bed, shall we? it's pretty easy to read and says:]
[well then]

- Junpei already has the "key".
In order to unlock the door, he must make Akane come three times.
[well then]

no subject
He has to find a different approach. He has to focus on.. Akane? No, she seems fine for the moment. The door? ... Yeah, he'll get to it fairly soon, but, what's closer is..
Those supposed instructions.
He'll take the lead right away, snatching that paper up and--
Wait.]
What the hell.
[On one hand, how do women even work? He's not sure if that number's possible.
On the other, that's not the part he should be concerned about. That's a horrible thing to write about someone so important to him. And yet, even as he angrily crumples that piece of paper up to make sure she doesn't see it, he also has to consider...]
... Did you set all this up, Akane..?
[It's not the most sensible conclusion. It's just the easiest.]
no subject
[she can't help but stare in awe; both at Junpei, the instructions that he's crumpled up, and then back at him. but when he asks the question, there's discomfort in her expression as she gives him a look that practically screams out why would you ever think that?]
Of course I didn't! What kind of person do you think I am?
[like, seriously, where in the world did he manage to get that idea? it's not as if she's run something like this before — wait. well, it was definitely not like this in the slightest bit, and she'd never do something this... perverse. even if she may have thought about it, once. maybe twice.
but it's not as if it's in the forefront of her mind constantly. not to mention that she's...not sure if she should act as 'Akane Kurashiki', the childhood friend that couldn't have possibly done something this complex, or as herself.
so she opts to slip into the former persona until otherwise stated.]
no subject
No.
Of course she wouldn't do... This.
He has to believe her.]
... Then, what kind of sick bastard...
[He shoots a glare towards the TV for a moment.
It would be different if she'd said yes. He's definitely been waiting for this chance for a while. Just... Not like this. Not ever. If she's not the one asking...
Ugh.
Giving somewhat of a growl in frustration, Junpei moves closer to Akane, reaching to take a careful hold of her collar and check whether there's any way he can remove it. Because isn't that the only option?]
Hang on for a bit, alright? I'll get this off of you.
[Somehow. Hopefully.
Probably not.]
sorry for the huge delay! i got really busy but now i'm catching up
[Akane's quiet for a few moments, not showing any trace of the sheer disgust she has for a thing like that, but looks like Junpei has her covered so.
this is totally fine. she just simply nods before he tries to get that off, but it's on pretty tight. and snug, which makes her frown.]
Oof, it's pretty tight, isn't it?
Look. We're playing Junpei and Akane. You disappearing for a year is spot-on characterization.
[... That's not something he needs to hear right now.
It's not something he needs to not hear, either, but, this seems a little too serious to start joking, for once.
... It's not coming off, though. It's not, and he isn't sure how to admit that he can't think of anything else that might remove it. So that leaves...]
Wanna try the door? Maybe it's not even locked.
[Although he's the one to make the suggestion, he doesn't move much beyond releasing Akane's collar. The closeness is kind of.. nice, despite everything.]
i mean, fair.....
[she keeps her voice determined as she makes a few steps towards the door, placing her hand around the handle and turning it-- only to hear the all too familiar jiggling of a locked door.
because of course it is.
why wouldn't it be?]
Jumpy, it really is locked!
It means you're doing it right :'D
But that's not going to stop Junpei from following after her and trying as well, only with quite a bit more force.
That doesn't make any difference, though. How frustrating. Maybe punching the door will help?
... No, all that does is hurt.
He has to suggest that they actually try what the note said. He does, and yet, he can't.]
Oh, come on.
Okay. Well. Maybe... There's gotta be some kinda lock pick or something lying around, right?
[... He really needs Akane to make the suggestion, is more like it.]
no subject
[she jumps back in surprise when he suddenly punches the door, almost surprised. but she frowns when he suggests a lock pick.]
Do you really think there's going to be a lock pick here...?
no subject
[... That frown brings confusion into the mix. If he could only figure out what it was for... It's probably because they're trapped, right? Because expecting to find such an easy way out is stupid? It can't possibly be that she's upset with him still looking for another choice...
Can it?
Maybe it could be...
...
Okay, so what if...]
I'll--
[No. Careful. Turn this around.]
If you've got a better idea I'm all for it.
no subject
[there's a note of hesitance and she doesn't finish calling him by that affectionate nickname, looking at him with a rather baffled expression that settles on her expression and she becomes just a little more serious:]
Junpei-kun. I don't necessarily have an idea, but... it sounds like you're hesitating to tell me something.
no subject
... Then, fine. Even if he still can't bring himself to ask...]
If you're saying you're not behind this, then I gotta figure you don't wanna go along with those instructions.
[Ugh. It would be better if his voice weren't suddenly harsh again. But it's not exactly the most stress-free situation right now.]
If I'm wrong, say so.
And.. I'll do it...
