CRAU History and Impact:
First and foremost: the Foundation is a multi-round, short-term murder game that currently spans five rounds and is based off of SCP/The Foundation. Characters in-game are considered as SCPs that were created by SCP-6350, which is described as a huge machine that prints out souls from other worlds. These souls are put into gigai bodies (of Bleach fame) and given an intake interview and become Agents in the Foundation. Another thing to note is that in the world of the Foundation is set basically in a modern world mirroring our own and characters are aware of their fictionality, even though their worlds do, in fact, 'exist' in spite of this.
Following this is a writeup of the history in bullet point sections, spanning from the round she was first brought into - round 2 - and the ones that follow after. Impact on her character will be included with my detailing of her history as well as her personality changes in the personality section.
SCP History:
- ☆ Inaba met with a lot of people and while she was wary of everyone, even more so when they started the game of 'mafia', but she started opening up over time.
☆ She was given the role of Inquisitor, where she was able to find out who was speaking to who in private throughout the week.
☆ In week one, she learned quite a bit and ran a meeting on Monday to try and keep everyone together and share as much information as possible.
☆ She also met the Apprentice (later known as Ichigo Kurosaki) who was a ghost sending messages through text. She did keep in contact with him a lot later, messaging him practically as often as she possibly could.
☆ Inaba has issues sleeping and eventually collapses on Thursday of the first week.
☆ The game officially 'starts' on Friday with the investigations and the first trial happens. Which is a mess and there's almost a tie (which Inaba is on, actually) before a tie breaker happens and then the votes were apparently miscounted and someone else dies instead. It kind of puts her in a panic and makes her extremely upset; she's a normal person, after all!
☆ Every week following the first one, she starts to regain her memories as an Agent at the Foundation. I'm not going to go into detail about those, but you can find the write-ups here. The short version: memories regained dealt with life as a Foundation agent and how she met some of the others.
☆ She also starts to form really close bonds with a lot of the teens - Atsushi and Ichigo in particular. She also bonds quite a bit with Yoshi as well. During truth or dare on the second week she opens up- but there are some things that she didn't want to talk about in person.
☆ Inaba was the one who discovered the body week two along with Shirou and actually did quite a bit of investigating of the body.
☆ And she had to yell at Yoshi for being an idiot during the trial and thinking that people would just forget about him.
☆ After week 2, she spoke with a few people about her role and even found out about Atsushi's role (and how he killed Yosano, oops) and in the end, she wound up getting killed by the Jorogumo. Who she roasted the whole time.
☆ She kept in contact with everyone after she was dead although she was really upset about dying because, in the end, she's still a normal girl. Of course, she had a lot of issues accepting herself and what other people thought about her because of how she thought about herself.
☆ During the week three trial she was pretty exasperated because 'dear god three people died this week' and also 'Akira is never gonna find out who the Barghest is'. By the end of it she was just essentially exhausted.
☆ Week four was her panicking about full moon shenanigans (as Atsushi transforms into a huge tiger under the moonglight) and the fact that Atsushi's collar was taken and her trying her best to figure out a plan to not get him killed. She tried really hard but she failed and she honestly blamed herself for it.
☆ Week five is where Inaba almost potentially double died (because yes, you could die permanently if you died as a ghost) due to trying to get information from the oil creature that was staying at the Resort due to a note that was sent by 34 - who is later revealed to be Lambdadelta, the Witch of Certainty, who was also the one that was messing with Atsushi and gave him his role, which Inaba is still absolutely livid about. The week five kill was Rean (the Jorogumo) murdering Minato, but since he had the bomb, they both exploded.
☆ It's when Rean shows up as a ghost that Inaba is actually completely shocked that they were all wrong about how the Jorogumo worked and that created a bit of a tension between her and Rean, given that she had confessed to him a little bit before this and got shot down due to Jorogumo Reasons. Reasons that were now completely fake, considering that Rean was more or less 'himself' with his personality warped. It kind of fucked up Inaba in a lot of ways, but she decided more or less to keep it all to herself.
☆ All she could do was watch the week 5 trial, which was a Mess considering that people were given short periods of time to vote and they had to vote and execute multiple times.
☆ At week six, all the ghosts (Inaba included) became practically unable to contact the others through most means. Except by using Gerome's ability to summon a duck and use it for morse code to pass on messages to the living.
☆ Also, Inaba becomes pretty upset about the Akira and Makoto swap - a lot of it due to past trauma in spite of the fact of being aware that this choice could have possibly been the best for the living and the dead. She personally didn't think so even if others did. When everyone went to clear a path for the living, Inaba stayed behind, aware of her weaknesses. After all, she's just a normal human compared to everyone else; she didn't want to be a nuisance nor did she want to have to be 'protected' by other people, either.
☆ She then watched the final investigation and final trial from the dead side - which means that she got to see how both the living and dead reacted to things. When things were said and done she was actually one of the last people to come back to life; a lot of it due to indecision and her discomfort with 'being in a body that isn't her own'. She wound up coming back not for herself - but because she wanted to help the others and couldn't just keep things lying around.
- ☆ On the first day, Inaba (who is still a D-class Agent at this point) has to deal with seeing a lot of C-class agents - which, she honestly is just like 'are you kidding me', but then when she finds out who the host is (it's a Port Mafia Dazai - or so she assumes at first; later she finds out he's a fake) she practically sees red and almost punches him. But she's then stopped by other people, thankfully. Once again: it's another setup for people to kill each other. And more importantly: it's a setup meant not only for people to kill each other, but to show the Foundation proof that the 6350s are dangerous and need to be rid of.
☆ During her stay in the House, she spends a lot of time crafting theories and talking to people in private - to the point where she shoves people into showers, purposely speaks in Japanese and even writes on peoples' hands to hide things away from any cameras and microphones. She also talks to 'Dazai' in hopes to getting to know him a little better and it's within the first week that she figures out that there's something off about him, something that she deduces is that he's probably a fake (which she's proven right about, later on) by the end of the first week.
☆ During her stay, she winds up participating in death games and while she does volunteer for her teams on several occasions to the point where she's had a lot of close calls, but didn't actually die. There was also a time where she almost died due to poison... except the fake 'Dazai' swapped the contents of the cups for her because he likes her a friend. The reason why she volunteered for a lot of the 'games' in spite of being aware that she could potentially die in them is because she had thought about it: staying dead and having her soul go back to her own world. But the reality is that even with that, she didn't want to die because she was all too aware of how many feelings would get crushed by that.
☆ Given the concept of the game, thankfully they only had to deal with two murders - one during the third week, and during the final week. Every other Saturday (and Wednesday) she, along with the rest of her group they had to participate in games where potential death could happen. And a lot of people did die - but they were safe, being taken care of and placed into Prinny bodies temporarily.
☆ Also during this round, the group were given magical fortune cookes and Inaba was lucky enough to get a fortune cookie that gives her the ability of nullification upon touch during the fourth week.
☆ At the end - they had to solve the murder for the real host and what they decided on, as a group that the murder should not have triggered a trial, based on the game's rules. They then have to fight MC - who they learn is an O5, and also a human and monster combined into one body and eventually they decide on an option that nobody expected: to destroy the buttons and use the letters given to them for a different word: rectify; to fix the wrongs that had happened to them, to save everyone in spite of the game rigged for them to fail.
Personality:
- On the outside, Himeko Inaba tries to show herself off as the "cool beauty"; she's intelligent, after all — defined by the friends around her who say that she's the smartest person in the club. She'll even sometimes play along with the others, being the "straight man" of the group and even piping up jokes for the hell of it, too. Inaba can even be a bit blunt and crass in her word choice at times, especially when she's irritated.
- While she does still have a lot of her major trust issues - as she tries to keep people away from her 'canon' and doesn't really talk much to people about what's happened between her and Heartseed - she has opened up quite a bit to the other groups that have participated in murder games and tries to communicate with them more. She is especially close to those at her site as well as the ones that were in her Team during the fourth round. Her trust towards adults in particular has gone down in general, given that none of the adults trust her. She's slowly warming up to some adults, but this is a case by case basis depending on how they treat her.
- She's still a little jaded, but she thinks that the potential for change is there for the higher ups, especially now that she's actually met them.
- She still doesn't like being around SCPs - they make her uncomfortable because they're not normal (in spite of being an SCP herself) as they do remind her of the Heartseed incident. The same goes for supernatural things in general. This is also why she doesn't utilize her first ability as often as one might expect, if at all.
- Compared to her canon counterpart, she's in an 'open relationship'; meaning that if in the off chance she can't be with the ones she's dating, she's allowed to date other people.
- Her fear of 'being alone' has definitely increased - a lot of it has to do with a fear of abandonment.
- She also despises murder even more and outright refuses to do such a thing unless it's out of self defense or potential revenge.
- She has a lot of deep rooted physical body problems - she's not in her normal human body, after all; just a gigai one, and not being in her original normal body kind of freaks her out, given the bodyswapping ordeal that she's went through. Of course, she doesn't reveal any of this to anybody else.
- She's very clingy and attached to those she cares about. And she's very much 'ride or die' with those she especially gets attached to. A lot of this is the same as canon, but it's increased a bit now due to being a ghost for a bit and being corporeal and just feeling pretty useless at times when she was a ghost and the people around her were just. . . not. The 'barrier' between dead and alive was just honestly rather stressful and it makes her care that much more about others. She's also pretty protective of the ones she cares about the most and will do quite a bit to help them if she can - whether it's helping people's problems by talking it out or doing something stupid like letting herself get killed so that the Cleaner (Atsushi) doesn't have to murder her himself.
- Another thing to note is that she tries to treat each iteration of a character as their own separate self and she shouldn't be forcing her own emotions on someone just because they look and act similar to someone she knows.
However, that's all simply a façade that she puts on so that people believe that she has everything together, in spite of the fact that... well, she honestly doesn't.
The truth of the matter is that Inaba just simply doesn't trust other people easily, if at all — that doesn't simply boil down to just strangers; it also includes even her friends and her close family members, too. It's because of this mindset that she winds up pushing others aside, wearing a proverbial mask when necessary because she saw literally everyone as her 'enemy', as she aptly puts it. She simply does not want people to see through her weaknesses and figure out that in spite of how strong she presents herself, she's actually rather weak at heart and fragile.
In spite of this, Inaba absolutely refuses to show any signs of weakness, as she's rather aware that if she does show how weak she is, others simply won't need her anymore. But it's also because she doesn't want to show her weaknesses that she tries so hard to put up airs of confidence externally even though she's constantly anxious and fretting over things.
It's because of this that she's actually more selfless than she lets on, given that she's the one who advocates for Taichi to help Iori with her issues because she's very much aware that he's the only one who possibly could. Even though she does show selfless qualities, that doesn't mean that she's a little selfish, either, and she's very much aware of it: she's the one who pushes for Iori and Taichi to go out in spite of her own lingering feelings for Taichi, after all. Which goes to show that in the end, for those that she truly cares about as her friends, she'll always prioritize their feelings over her very own.
Due to her trust issues, Inaba has a tendency to analyze the situation repeatedly, to the point where she can comprehend it and attempt to find a solution for it, if she can. But it's also due to her analytical ability that she suffers from having her plans ruined to the point where she gets rather irritated and even angry.
However, even if she does put up a good mask to hide away her anxieties - Inaba herself even states that she's been building this up for months - it isn't as if she hides her emotions away entirely. While they might not be worn on her sleeve like some of the others in the club, it's not too difficult to tell what she's generally feeling, just as long as it's not a sign of her internal weakness.
Inaba also does not take bullshit, especially when it comes to her friends doing stupid things. This is shown time and again as she whacks people hard for saying stupid things - unless she's rolling with the punches - and even gets absolutely furious when people use her in ways that she doesn't appreciate. She's not the type that's simply going to twiddle her thumbs and do absolutely nothing.
It's because of this can-do attitude of hers that allows her to lead the Student Cultural Society-- she can easily bring people to attention and even stop things from getting out of hand when it comes down to fights.
SCP Changes:
Abilities/Powers/Weaknesses & Warping:
- An inherent ability that comes to her is the fact that she has a high analysis and deduction skill; she's good at people watching and reading more deeply into people's intentions based on what they do and coming up with 'what to do next' based on the information she knows. Of course, this is just a human skill that she's learned to do over the years.
As someone from SCP-6350, she's also gained abilities as well. The first ability that she has that she got just from being a 6350 is that by touching someone, she can induce discomfort and nausea in a character; it's an 'at will' power, so she can choose to use it or not.
During round 4, she also received the ability to nullify abilities through touch, and can choose to use or not. Basically, she can choose to 'turn off' her ability. If she has the ability on, she cannot be healed by magic, so any injuries she sustains will stick around unless she turns the ability off. And once her ability is off is when she becomes more susceptible to supernatural attacks. She can nullify anything supernatural (this includes magic, abilities, and curses as examples), but anything mundane can hurt and/or kill her rather easily, as her body is still as fragile as a human.
The natural limitations of these abilities are that she absolutely has to be touching the person in order to activate either of her abilities, and she cannot use both of her abilities at the same time. She can only use one at a time and while she can nullify multiple people, that's only possible if she's touching any of them.
In terms of warps: if she utilizes the discomfort and nausea ability at all, the longer she uses it on a single person, she will also feel the same discomfort as well on an increasing scale. As for the nullification, obviously the natural limitations apply, but she also might not be able to nullify certain effects from the game itself (on a case by case basis, based on mod approval regarding events/effects) and while touching something - whether that be a person, object, ability, etc - the longer she nullifies their ability, the more physical pain she will feel on a slowly increasing scale.

Are you comfortable with prominent elements of fourth-walling?: Yes!
What themes of horror/psychological thrillers do you enjoy the most?: I primarily prefer the psychological themes - my favorites being ones that deal with characters not seeing things straight, both literally and proverbially. Things that mess with the character's mindset and warps them in some shape or form temporarily.
Is there anything in particular you absolutely need specific content warnings for?: Nope.
Additional Information: As asked here, I'm currently bringing Inaba from the end of the fifth round of SCP/The Foundation, but plan on eventually canon updating her to the end of the sixth round at a later point and am noting that here as requested by the FAQ!
