[ Kanji, for all of his tough act and scary demeanor, is just not the greatest with girls. In fact, he's quite bad with them. He's especially not great around cute, kind girls, ones who reached out to him at a time when few people would, and who was always nice to him, and who made him feel right at home here...

Which is to say, he's really not great around Mion Sonozaki.

Even so, for all that she's done for him, he wants to thank her. After much debate, and embarrassment, and nearly backing out, he'd managed to muster up the courage to approach her. It's fine, right? It's not weird. Probably. Maybe.

Really he's just grateful to have caught her alone after school. ]

Uhhh... H-hey, Mion, you got a second?

... Hm? I do have a second-- [ In fact she has multiple, but she won't actually say that, instead trying to play it off as casually as possible. ] Multiple, in fact. Was there something you needed from this old geezer?

[ It's not an odd response at all, but it seems to throw him off guard a little. He was both hoping she would, and that she wouldn't, all at once.

Kanji swallows the lump in his throat, rubbing the back of his neck nervously and glancing away. ]

Well, y'see... I wanted to thank you for everything you've done for me, so, uh...

[ It's only with some harsh internal scolding (c'mon, Kanji, be a man! that he manages to not abort the entire mission then and there. Still, that little found bit of courage is enough for him to produce the small gift bag he'd been hiding. Still unable to make eye contact, he adds: ]

This is for you... I uh, hope you like it.

[ If Mion looks inside, she'll find an knit doll. The floppy-eared bunny is complete with clothes, a ribbon, a hat, and a large strawberry held between its two paws.

It's... very elaborate. ]

[ She takes the gift bag and pulls out what's inside and finds that it seems to be a handmade doll--one that anyone could arguably describe as cute. And it's enough for her cheeks to burn a bright red in surprise. ]

E-Eh? This is for me...? But, something like this... you don't think it's something that's unsuitable for an old geezer like myself?

[ His mind freezes up at the word unsuitable, but he manages to catch himself before he falls into a complete panic. Kanji shakes his head - truthfully, he's just glad she didn't instantly think him odd. ]

What? N-no! No, it's not like that...! I mean, uh... You know, I actually thought something like that would be perfect for a cute girl like you.

[ He rubs the back of his neck a little more, cheeks tinting pink. He doesn't have to think too hard on what he just said to feel embarrassment bubbling up. It's not like he's blind to the fact that she's kind of a tomboy, what with the old man talk and all that. In many ways, it was because she was willing to cross that gender gap that he was able to feel comfortable around her.

But she's still a girl. Plus, he likes cute things!! ]

[ It's the very second that he mentions that she's cute that a switch practically flips inside of Mion and her face turns red, pulling the doll a little closer as if it's something precious to her.

Her heart flutters and her face burns a bright scarlet in a way that she usually doesn't seem to show. ]

Um, ah... well... I-I do... thank you...

[It's graduation day for Keiichi and Rena. And while the graduating class of this year is basically two students, it is nonetheless an event to celebrate. There was a time when Rika thought that this day would never come, and not because she had no faith in her friends' intelligence. Having watched their school lives be cut short over and over again, it's almost surreal now.

After the ceremonies are done, Rika stands back to watch as Keiichi bullies Satoko one last time. Rena spinning off in her last 'cute mode' attack on Satoko, too. Rika giggles behind her hand, a tear sneaking into one eye.]

Mii~ They sure do grow up fast, don't they? I feel like it was just yesterday that Keiichi couldn't even walk to school alone. [Because he was new and got lost, but-]

Ahaha! They really do. This old geezer can't believe that they'll soon be joining me in high school activities. At least we'll have a part of the club back together. I'll have to wait excitedly for you young'uns to graduate, so please graduate soon.

[ Obviously, she's referring to both Rika and Satoko there.

[Her smile softens at the mention of Satoko and her. In the back of her mind, Rika has already resolved to go to St Lucia. Failing the exam is not an option for her.]
