But this is especially for ✨BIRTHDAY BULLSHIT✨ (early post as like, i am working on the day of her Actual Birthday) but y'know. doesn't actually have to be birthday-related. but........i would be happy if it were? please spoil my girl, For those who don't know Inaba: she's generally someone who acts cold, even blunt to other people, largely because she has a bunch of trust issues. When she gets close to people she tends to care about them so much that she's willing to throw away her emotions so that she can keep the people she cares about as her friends. She's extremely analytical, a computer nerd in not-so-secret (she builds computers! she's a bit of a programmer!!) and things like that. Anyway, since this is a birthday post for her, I would definitely like to focus on that aspect of things. Give her presents, feed her thirst, things like that. Of course, presents can be Of The Fucked Up Variety (i.e: "what if I gave Himeko a thing where if she opens it she gets put under someone else's control) but look, I'm also a thirsty bitch so don't judge me about it. Okay? Okay. Regarding any shipping stuff, she works best with characters who are selfless dumbasses, protagonist-types, characters who contrast her - she's a dark person, so someone who is lighter/genki, and people who Constantly Wear Proverbial Masks. [Yuuto reaches into his pocket and, in broad daylight, right by her school, like an absolute idiot, reveals a black ring box.

He does not show any sign of understanding what it signifies.]

... Huh- wait, what are you doing, with that sort of gift!?

Giving it to you..? Ah- Sorry. Should I open it?

[dereban]

That's not what I meant! That's a ring, isn't it?! What are you trying to do, propose to me on my birthday?

[spacialeyes]

… Au? Propose?

N-No, I mean- Not today. It’s… This is what you give your romantic partner, correct?

[dereban]

You usually give a ring to your romantic partner if you're going to propose marriage to them.

[spacialeyes]

[A couple of things click into place and Yuuto closes his hands around the ring box, pulling it close to his chest to hide it.]

Oh..! I-I… I just thought it was a sign of human devotion, ah… I can get you something if that’s better?

You really don't have to if you don't want to, you know.

[spacialeyes]

[He shakes his head, tail swaying rapidly.]

I want for you to like your birthday present though..! I can find something that you actually like!

[dereban]

I didn't say that I hated it.

[ Inaba rubs at the nape of her neck, feeling a little awkward. ]

But it's definitely a bit too soon...

[For Yuuto, it isn’t even on the table. Demons don’t get married, they-

He shakes his head.]

I have human currency. Let’s go buy something normal. Whatever you want!

... hey, Yuuto. Is the idea of marrying me that bad?

[spacialeyes]

[And Yuuto flinches. He hadn’t realized what his panic as implying.

Trying to calm himself, Yuuto begins to twirl his longer hair around his finger.]

Uh, well… It’s not that I wouldn’t if I could, just… [He looks around to make sure no one will overheat them, then lowers his voice:] Demons don’t get married…

[dereban]

They don't, huh. I guess that's too bad, then.

[spacialeyes]

... Yeah. It is, huh?

[He fidgets with the closed ring box for a while longer, then gently shoves it back at her.]

Y-You... you can keep it? I could eat it, [rock eating demon-] But it probably wouldn't taste good anyway.

[dereban]

I'll keep it, then. Don't worry, I don't plan on wearing it in public.

[ In private, however... that's a completely different story. She takes the ring with a rather bright grin, pulling it close to her chest for a moment or two before finally pocketing the thing. ]

[spacialeyes]

[He isn’t sure how to describe the feeling that comes over him when she smiles that way. His tail flicks sharply to signal the sudden emotion, but his expression is otherwise more surprised than anything. It should hurt more to see her happy about a wedding ring- A promise he can’t make to her,- and yet instead, he feels happy. Hopeful, even.

He blinks and shakes his head.]

Do you still want to go on a date..? Since I can’t see you for anything tonight, huh…

[dereban]

Yeah.

[ There isn't even a single shred of hesitation when she says the single word. ]

I should have a lot of time for at least a date.

[spacialeyes]

We can start with the lights? There are already a lot of Christmas displays up… I don’t think I’ll burst into flames or anything if I get too close to them either.

[dereban]

Jeez... whenever you say something like that, it really makes me think that you're a vampire over being a demon. But sure, we can go see the lights.

[spacialeyes]

Would it be easier to believe me if I did burst into flames? We could go to a church and find out?

[He’s way too casual about this.]

That sounds good for a start! Let’s go to the park? [Yuuto offers his hand timidly, not sure if they’re far enough from school for her to feel comfortable taking it.]

[dereban]

[ She places a hand on Yuuto's shoulder, her answer completely dry: ]

Please don't burst into flames. Actually, going to a church can cause that...? Is that why you can't get married?

[ Why is that the takeaway. ]

Park sounds fine with me.

[ She takes his hand, without a single bit of hesitation. ]

[spacialeyes]

… If you’d rather that I not, then I shall not.

[Or at least, he’ll try not to.

He laughs softly at her guess.]

Something like that… Plus, demons are kind of… different, you know? I don’t have a heart to give away. And giving away my horns is weird. We’re not romantic creatures…
