OPEN PSL ❖ fragment space

"Welcome to the S.S Phoenix! We hope you enjoy your stay!"
- You open your eyes feeling a little stiff. The last thing you recall is seeing your planet get destroyed before a hand reached out to you--Captain's hand. You were then greeted with the same introductory phrase before receiving the keys to their brand new dorm, a device--you're told it's called the Babelfish, something that allows you to interact with others through the interdimensional network--and perhaps an extra thing or two.
You are then ushered into the onboarding area, where you can see your fellow passengers. Some foreign faces, perhaps even some familiar ones. Before you are given any time to think, however, Captain, at the head of the room, speaks up.
"Once again, welcome new guests, to the S.S. Phoenix! You may call me Captain. Today is your first day of onboarding, where you can get to learn more about us and your fellow passengers.
We are part of the Interdimensional Galactic Coalition, a system that was created to keep order and peace amongst the multiverse. This ship that you're currently in is now your new home. Consider the card that you have obtained your citizenship. However, staying here comes with a price.
As you already know, your worlds were destroyed. And we are here to help restore those worlds into proper order. But in order to do that, you must obtain Fragments. These mysterious Fragments will then power our ship's Revival Program. Those can be found in various worlds.
Now, if you have any further questions, now is the time to ask."
And she opens up the floor for questions--any questions.
[ OOC: Welcome, everyone, to a long form PSL in the form of Fragment Space! The premise of this is that your character's universes have been destroyed -- player's choice on the how -- and they have been rescued by the Captain to adventure to various worlds.
This PSL will very much be an exploration/mystery setup, with various types of settings that I will work with players on.
Locations for the S.S. Phoenix can be found here, and current NPC information can be found here.
In terms of moving things along, I will try to make sure that things move smoothly at least once a month. If you need to contact me for any questions/comments/concerns, please ping me either on plurk (

Oh. Th-thanks.
I'm Lori. You?
[... Right, she has a way to pay for coffee. She thinks. Hopes.]

[She opts to not yet ask what 'Galactic Baseballer' means.]
This... Uh. Isn't my first world-blow-up crisis, honestly...

But Stelle rubs at the nape of her neck awkwardly, with a bit of thought:]
It's mine, but ah... I have heard about worlds that have been destroyed in the past. Then again, I guess I don't really have a world to begin with?
no subject
[... Yeah this sounds like Lori is used to certain kinds of things happening around her.]
To the coffee shop?

[She says that as she is already leading the way to said coffee shop, taking it all in stride.]

Like, literal rails? Or more like the 'Silver Train' of Spain that was a bunch of ocean ships in a row? Dad always claimed one of his ancestors robbed it. Pretty sure that was bullshit.

[She takes out her phone and shows her the image of the Astral Express.]

This ship's definitely larger, though. I... Dooooubt I could practice my abilities much on that. Could build a good workshop at least.

[Just idly asking, curiously.]

[She is trying to deny it but it is literally true - the core thing that powers everything with her abilities is Fae magic.]

... Well, besides stealing a bunch of dad's anonymous bank accounts. That was petty of me. Useful, though.

I'm still not sure it stuck, and at least one of those was nonliteral.

[It's spoken rather matter of factly before--]
Here we are, sweet, sweet coffee.
no subject
Yep...
[She looks around the coffee stand. Like, is it staffed or automated, for one? She is pretty tech-savvy so working out how to use it isn't the problem here most likely. Then again, with her luck, shoe knows what weird shit looking around a little will run her into?]

[She'll work through the items she was provided to pay for a basic one-cream-one-sugar coffee.]
What will you get?
[... She is, however, poking around the stand a bit as she considers things. You never know when you're going to find something, after all...]
