"Welcome to the S.S Phoenix! We hope you enjoy your stay!"

You open your eyes feeling a little stiff. The last thing you recall is seeing your planet get destroyed before a hand reached out to you--Captain's hand. You were then greeted with the same introductory phrase before receiving the keys to their brand new dorm, a device--you're told it's called the Babelfish, something that allows you to interact with others through the interdimensional network--and perhaps an extra thing or two.

You are then ushered into the onboarding area, where you can see your fellow passengers. Some foreign faces, perhaps even some familiar ones. Before you are given any time to think, however, Captain, at the head of the room, speaks up.

"Once again, welcome new guests, to the S.S. Phoenix! You may call me Captain. Today is your first day of onboarding, where you can get to learn more about us and your fellow passengers.

We are part of the Interdimensional Galactic Coalition, a system that was created to keep order and peace amongst the multiverse. This ship that you're currently in is now your new home. Consider the card that you have obtained your citizenship. However, staying here comes with a price.

As you already know, your worlds were destroyed. And we are here to help restore those worlds into proper order. But in order to do that, you must obtain Fragments. These mysterious Fragments will then power our ship's Revival Program. Those can be found in various worlds.

Now, if you have any further questions, now is the time to ask."

And she opens up the floor for questions--any questions.

[ OOC: Welcome, everyone, to a long form PSL in the form of Fragment Space! The premise of this is that your character's universes have been destroyed -- player's choice on the how -- and they have been rescued by the Captain to adventure to various worlds.

This PSL will very much be an exploration/mystery setup, with various types of settings that I will work with players on.

In terms of moving things along, I will try to make sure that things move smoothly at least once a month. If you need to contact me for any questions/comments/concerns, please ping me either on plurk (tsundereban) or Discord (tsunderebans)! As this is an open PSL for my timeline, characters who participate may also interact with each other if they'd like, or keep things separate. I'm willing to run with things either way. ]

Mostly because we're in space. Granted, we've got a surprising number of resources as we are now.

I've been on spaceships that were just like this...

Presumably they must make a lot of planetside supply stops, that and/or cultivate their own supplies somehow.

Might be a bit of both, honestly. This place might be the same...?

That only makes it more suspicious that they had an entire generation ship just lying around and happened to pick up a bunch of teenage girls and young women from destroyed worlds. ...And that one guy. But then, that sort of thing does seem to happen. I doubt it's Shakespeare's ghost this time, though.

I don't know if you could say that it was lying around... but if you're that suspicious, maybe we should search for clues?

My thoughts exactly. Clues have got to be everywhere in this place. Take the kitchen! How could she make a cake so filling and yet addictively good? Or the dormitories -- why do we need to earn single rooms? I presume there's no social rank mechanic, or the player would be incentivized to keep us at zero stars to increase our ranks with our roommates more easily.

Hmm... the kitchen might be the best thing to check out right now out of the two.

[And she grabs Stelle's wrist, leaving her conspiracy board behind, and starts off to the kitchen. Yes, she's going to be trying to stealth this to get around the cafeteria staff until she can find anything left over from the cake-baking process.]

[Stelle shouts loudly in surprise as she's practically dragged off.]

[ Once they arrive at the kitchen, they'll notice that it's surprisingly easy to come and go. Many of the kitchen staff aren't human to begin with -- primarily robots ushering to and fro; not things that you'd think would be making what seems to be the "perfect cake".

And it doesn't seem like anyone will be stopping them, either.

The kitchen seems pretty typical, to say the least. Some of the robots are working on orders as they get them from other crew members, but what isn't around - at least, not at a first glance, are any ingredients that look like it could have come from a cake. ]

[If the robots are just letting them in, Rosalind will wander in and start rooting around in the pantry.]

They must have already put everything away. Efficient, I'll say. What is all this?

I've never been to a proper kitchen before, so I wouldn't know. I've only ever done all my cooking using the Omni-Synthesizer.

I must admit cooking and baking aren't my forte either, but usually when someone makes a cake, the evidence is everywhere in the open...

[Checking the shelves -- anything weird or obviously out of place stored in here?]

[ The weird part is that there isn't anything strange; all the cabinets are filled to the brim with ingredients, and it doesn't look like any of it has been used at all... ]

Maybe they already cleaned up...?

[Stelle also goes rifling through the drawers, only to find that they're all full of ingredients.]

This quickly? And nothing's depleted at all? Do they just replenish everything as soon as it's used... or does she not use anything?

Games make things disappear all the time. Maybe she didn't use this kitchen...?

What other kitchen is there? We're in the middle of space. She must have just materialized it.

Maybe the Captain has a personal one.

.....That's it. I'm going to map out the entire ship. If they've hidden a second kitchen somewhere it wouldn't make sense with the physics engine, I'm going to make them work for it.

[Just. Going for the parchment paper and making off with the entire roll. "No inhibitions" is right, Rosalind is going all in on the suspicious conspiracy.]

Uh. . . that's a lot of paper you're taking.

Yes, and there's rather a lot of ship, isn't there?

Well, yeah, but are you planning on making a one to one scale of a map?

Now don't be ridiculous, that couldn't possibly fit on the paper. But I don't know how big the ship is yet, so I want to cover my bases.
