OPEN PSL ❖ fragment space

"Welcome to the S.S Phoenix! We hope you enjoy your stay!"
- You open your eyes feeling a little stiff. The last thing you recall is seeing your planet get destroyed before a hand reached out to you--Captain's hand. You were then greeted with the same introductory phrase before receiving the keys to their brand new dorm, a device--you're told it's called the Babelfish, something that allows you to interact with others through the interdimensional network--and perhaps an extra thing or two.
You are then ushered into the onboarding area, where you can see your fellow passengers. Some foreign faces, perhaps even some familiar ones. Before you are given any time to think, however, Captain, at the head of the room, speaks up.
"Once again, welcome new guests, to the S.S. Phoenix! You may call me Captain. Today is your first day of onboarding, where you can get to learn more about us and your fellow passengers.
We are part of the Interdimensional Galactic Coalition, a system that was created to keep order and peace amongst the multiverse. This ship that you're currently in is now your new home. Consider the card that you have obtained your citizenship. However, staying here comes with a price.
As you already know, your worlds were destroyed. And we are here to help restore those worlds into proper order. But in order to do that, you must obtain Fragments. These mysterious Fragments will then power our ship's Revival Program. Those can be found in various worlds.
Now, if you have any further questions, now is the time to ask."
And she opens up the floor for questions--any questions.
[ OOC: Welcome, everyone, to a long form PSL in the form of Fragment Space! The premise of this is that your character's universes have been destroyed -- player's choice on the how -- and they have been rescued by the Captain to adventure to various worlds.
This PSL will very much be an exploration/mystery setup, with various types of settings that I will work with players on.
Locations for the S.S. Phoenix can be found here, and current NPC information can be found here.
In terms of moving things along, I will try to make sure that things move smoothly at least once a month. If you need to contact me for any questions/comments/concerns, please ping me either on plurk (

I'm not a fashion doll, you know. I wear what I do because it's easier to hide my presence that way.
[ As for what Yuki brought up... ]
There's Space Costco. Has pretty much everything you need and then some.

Aw, come on, you gotta look a little less dull sometimes! It can't be any fun hiding all the time, you know?
[And clearly some Lunatique'll do the trick, even if she's gotta figure out all the stitches and stuff herself--]
And, well, you heard her, Yukkie. There's apparently still super big malls in space, so clearly we just go to the mall.
[...wait. Come to think of it,]
Where do we find a Space Costco, anyway?
[Said while she's still circling around.]

[ The girl frowns and then-- ]
And more importantly, do you have to circle around me like that?!
[ Good news is that she isn't glitching while Ruka's doing that but now she's sounding a bit loud and irritated, enough that she has to go sink herself deeper into the water. ]
It's fine. I don't need to --
[ She pauses, bites her lip, and clears her throat, correcting herself. ]
It's fine.

I'll figure something out! Maybe I can just go around performing on the ship!
[Of course she leaps to that solution even as she gets in the girl's personal space.]
And come on, don't be shy! You're a real looker, you know? There's bound to be something that works for you!
[RIGHT IN FRONT OF YOUR WIFE, HUH-]
1 / 2
[--work, she was about to say, but then Ruka goes all in on the girl's personal space, enough to fluster Yuki a little.]
O-Oi, Ruka, you don't need to get into her personal space like that...!
no subject
[ She doesn't even bother to move away from Ruka, just stating that all too seriously. ]
Although I will admit that maybe a haircut's in order...
no subject
[The question is, will she be able to touch this girl? Time to find out for sure...
Ruka promptly reaches out to try and part the bangs over Ritsu's face.]
And speaking of--why haven't you got one? It can't be good having all this get in the way...
no subject
But her bangs do get pushed out of the way, revealing her exhausted, dark hazel eyes. ]
It's not like I haven't tried. I'm not used to having my hair grow out this long... it certainly doesn't suit me.
1/2
[Man. That's definitely the look of a girl that's seen too much.
She feels that, to be honest, even if she doesn't show her weariness much.]
Well, now we have to get you one as part of the makeover--
no subject
[...and then her hand slips through, making her withdraw before she stumbles and hits the edge of the bath.
...blink.
Blink blink.
Blink blink blink blink blink.
Ruka is, after all that stunned silence, thoroughly spooked.]
YOU'RE A GHOST? HAVE WE BEEN TALKING WITH A GHOST THIS WHOLE TIME!??!?!?!?
no subject
[ She sighs sinking into the bath more. ]
It's just-
[ The girl starts to tap on the wall repeatedly. Ruka, given her hearing will be able to tell that the tapping doesn't seem to have a consistent rhythm. ]
Complicated.
no subject
[Mercifully, Ruka does step back to give her some actual space and pay attention to what's going on. Especially once she picks up on that irregular tapping she's doing. ...Is it some kind of code? Is she trying to distract herself from something awful?
...did it have to do with the notebook? It seemed plausible.
That doesn't distract her nearly enough from shoving something through her verbal filter.]
Sooooooo... Are you some kinda Fours Holograph?
1 / 2
[Yeah, the mePad is in the bath, of course.]
Understood.
no subject
[ How did she get that reference from her mangling it????? A mystery, but she is still tapping regardless. ]
no subject
Darn, I thought we had something special for a moment...
[RUKA-]
But if you're not one of those or a ghost, then what's the deal here?
[Ruka hadn't forgotten her own mePad, but this was more Yuki's speed -- more reasons to be glad she had the hacker as her number two...]
no subject
Like what, exactly? You barely know me.
[ As for Ruka's second question... ]
This is just how I am.
