OPEN PSL ❖ fragment space

"Welcome to the S.S Phoenix! We hope you enjoy your stay!"
- You open your eyes feeling a little stiff. The last thing you recall is seeing your planet get destroyed before a hand reached out to you--Captain's hand. You were then greeted with the same introductory phrase before receiving the keys to their brand new dorm, a device--you're told it's called the Babelfish, something that allows you to interact with others through the interdimensional network--and perhaps an extra thing or two.
You are then ushered into the onboarding area, where you can see your fellow passengers. Some foreign faces, perhaps even some familiar ones. Before you are given any time to think, however, Captain, at the head of the room, speaks up.
"Once again, welcome new guests, to the S.S. Phoenix! You may call me Captain. Today is your first day of onboarding, where you can get to learn more about us and your fellow passengers.
We are part of the Interdimensional Galactic Coalition, a system that was created to keep order and peace amongst the multiverse. This ship that you're currently in is now your new home. Consider the card that you have obtained your citizenship. However, staying here comes with a price.
As you already know, your worlds were destroyed. And we are here to help restore those worlds into proper order. But in order to do that, you must obtain Fragments. These mysterious Fragments will then power our ship's Revival Program. Those can be found in various worlds.
Now, if you have any further questions, now is the time to ask."
And she opens up the floor for questions--any questions.
[ OOC: Welcome, everyone, to a long form PSL in the form of Fragment Space! The premise of this is that your character's universes have been destroyed -- player's choice on the how -- and they have been rescued by the Captain to adventure to various worlds.
This PSL will very much be an exploration/mystery setup, with various types of settings that I will work with players on.
Locations for the S.S. Phoenix can be found here, and current NPC information can be found here.
In terms of moving things along, I will try to make sure that things move smoothly at least once a month. If you need to contact me for any questions/comments/concerns, please ping me either on plurk (
i rolled a 20 for this too. this is going to sting.
[Her voice cracks. Not just with the anguish from earlier, but with anger.
Deep-cutting anger born of just how much she cares for those around her, deep down.]
What's the point of living like that!? Sure, it's 'safe' for you, but--why!? Why cut yourself off like that!? Do you want to reduce yourself to a husk, just crawling along the ground in a half-hearted attempt to survive!?
[...even if she can't express her feelings through her face very well, something slips free from the little beads that make up her eyes.
Tears, and the ugly, ugly mixture of emotions that come with them.]

[ There's no heart in the way she says those words, just simple acceptance. Like she's already given up.
Her form glitches again, and when she speaks up, there's something static in her words, like she's not the one really talking anymore. ]

[ She starts running, again. ]

And there's that other girl...
The way that she can feel that there's something wrong with her from what seems like a spiritual level is almost unnerving. It's only when she makes a run for it that she looks over her shoulder at the plush Ruka and asks, again:]
What do ya wanna do? Still go after her?
no subject
[They don't even know what the hell's with all that glitching. And the way she sounded before she left, like she was brainwashed into saying it...
...ugh, what an awful feeling to have running down her spine.]
We'll have to see if anyone else knows something that might help. We're pretty in the dark here.
no subject
[She'll trust her leader's judgement, for now.]
I felt somethin' off 'bout her, by the way.
[Just putting it out there first.]
no subject
What? What'd you pick up?
no subject
just gonna put up a blanket cw for shit related to experimentation-
[--wait.]
...Yukkie and I found a notebook in the trash that probably belonged to her when we first got here. It said something about her having something done to her...
no subject
[What the fuck.]
Maybe we should find Izumi.
[She's the brains, after all...]
no subject
[If it wasn't for the situation and the fact it really was her, she'd have totally bought a few...]
Need me to point you in her direction?
no subject
[Or hell, maybe Izumi found something--]

[31-A's been through enough craziness that thinking on their feet might as well be the norm for them.
She can't help but think it'd be nice if things would let up a little, though...]

Time to go ahead and find Izumi--]

Hm!]

[There's the girl of the hour again-]
Heeeey! Yukkie--
[...huh, this is a lot of deja vu. It feels like they just had this situation come up.]
Yukkie? Hello? Earth to Yukkie...?

[She's going to crouch down to let Ruka hop off if she needs to.]

[...]
I found this memory shard and it's actually really weird...

[Ruka takes the chance to get back onto solid ground... after a bit of scooting around to make sure she can move, anyway.]
What's so weird about it? Was there some kind of freaky ghost story in there?
[Ruka.]
