"Welcome to the S.S Phoenix! We hope you enjoy your stay!"

You open your eyes feeling a little stiff. The last thing you recall is seeing your planet get destroyed before a hand reached out to you--Captain's hand. You were then greeted with the same introductory phrase before receiving the keys to their brand new dorm, a device--you're told it's called the Babelfish, something that allows you to interact with others through the interdimensional network--and perhaps an extra thing or two.

You are then ushered into the onboarding area, where you can see your fellow passengers. Some foreign faces, perhaps even some familiar ones. Before you are given any time to think, however, Captain, at the head of the room, speaks up.

"Once again, welcome new guests, to the S.S. Phoenix! You may call me Captain. Today is your first day of onboarding, where you can get to learn more about us and your fellow passengers.

We are part of the Interdimensional Galactic Coalition, a system that was created to keep order and peace amongst the multiverse. This ship that you're currently in is now your new home. Consider the card that you have obtained your citizenship. However, staying here comes with a price.

As you already know, your worlds were destroyed. And we are here to help restore those worlds into proper order. But in order to do that, you must obtain Fragments. These mysterious Fragments will then power our ship's Revival Program. Those can be found in various worlds.

Now, if you have any further questions, now is the time to ask."

And she opens up the floor for questions--any questions.

[ OOC: Welcome, everyone, to a long form PSL in the form of Fragment Space! The premise of this is that your character's universes have been destroyed -- player's choice on the how -- and they have been rescued by the Captain to adventure to various worlds.

This PSL will very much be an exploration/mystery setup, with various types of settings that I will work with players on.

In terms of moving things along, I will try to make sure that things move smoothly at least once a month. If you need to contact me for any questions/comments/concerns, please ping me either on plurk (tsundereban) or Discord (tsunderebans)! As this is an open PSL for my timeline, characters who participate may also interact with each other if they'd like, or keep things separate. I'm willing to run with things either way. ]

I lose the memory when I leave. If you use my name outside of this room though... it'll be a problem for you. That does include nicknames. Do you still want to know?

The fact that you admitted to that so easily is concerning. But, fine - you can at least get my last name.

It's Inaba.

Hmmmmm... Inabie should be fine, then! That works, right?

[She should not be wiggling her arms around like an excitable child, but here she is doing exactly that.]

[dereban]

It's not too different from how Iori calls me "Inaban", so it's fine... any other questions?

I guess the first thing would be how you wound up like... that. The whole see-through, intangible and all static-y thing.

[dereban]

[For a moment, she's silent as her gaze flicks over to her phone, checking on her alarm before--]

The Captain poisoned me. I hacked into the system and found out something I shouldn't have and ended up like that. [There's a low, bitter chuckle.] They basically turned me into an NPC who wouldn't be able to be unhappy.

Of all the things to do to someone...

[The Captain wasn't exactly giving them a whole lot of reasons to be trusting before, after what they saw in that book, but this--what was the point of being that cruel? This isn't the military--!

...Wait.]

Now that I think of it... some of the memories we found...

The purple ones scattered around were mine. It was part of the price I paid to cause this chaos.

[The exclamation comes out of nowhere.

She sounds like she's hit upon something very important, all of a sudden...]

I didn't do it on purpose, I sweaaaaaaaaaaar-!

Well, I woke up, ran around for a bit trying to find my friends... and then I tripped and fell face-first onto something. It was a real funny looking rock...

I don't know how, but I ended up landing on it mouth first and swallowing it.

[dereban]

And what happened after you swallowed it, exactly?

[teheperinko]

I definitely saw one of your memories from your perspective. You were looking at a screen and stuff... It had all these things on it, not that I could see much of it.

It sure was the weirdest edible vitamin I've eaten in my life.

So that's what that does... sorry. You shouldn't have experienced the memory like that.

I can't say it was all bad, but man... seeing through someone else's eyes and feeling what they're feeling is trippy no matter how you slap it.

That's exactly why I'm apologizing. Being in my head isn't very pleasant.

[teheperinko]

I mean... it didn't bother me too much, in the end?

[Ruka shrugs.]

It wasn't exactly how I wanted to get to know you more, but I still got to know you more. Even if it does mean I've just got someone else's memory stuck in my four brain now.

[dereban]

I see.
