Anyway, this game is unwinnable now. Since nobody can get six in a row. Only five.

Huh?! Wait... You were paying attenti-- [A beat as she gets flustered.] I mean, of course it is! I was testing your sense of perception the entire time!

[She says as she rematerializes outside of her phone.]

Hmph... Not bad. But we'll have to play more game in the future. Or maybe you can ask Rider to entertain you too. He's played games like chess in the past!

That's fine by me. I didn't think that he was much of a gamer, though.

He sure is! Once you know what he likes, he becomes a big kid or even a wild animal--

[And it's right there that Van appears out of nowhere to tightly grab Mare in his hand before she continues talking with a very exasperated look.]

[His expression softens whenever he looks at Stelle.]

Anyway, the cake's ready for us. I'm sure dealing with the princess here has worked up an appetite.

It's okay, I would have been hungry regardless.

[He'll be guiding Stelle over to the table where a small cake was waiting for them. Van sparkles with pride as he puffs his chest a bit.]

Here it is! It's a mini chocolate ganache cake! I had to make due with some chocolate bars I found and got creative with the frosting.

Ohh... it looks pretty good. Thank you.

[He'll be sitting down to cut himself a slice and place it down on a plate, then he cuts another slice for Stelle before offering it to her as well.]

Heh, I'm always looking for ways to improve my cooking. I'm a sweet tooth for a hundred different reasons, but thanks to that... It makes every day a treat.

I don't really experience slice of life things that often.

That so? Well, I've got a little proposal for ya. Though I might be oversteppin' my boundaries here.

[After all, he was treating this like any other contract with a client he's had in the past.]

How about we go to an amusement park together to make some new memories for you? You might be involved in this war, but that's no reason to forget the little moments that are worth fighting of.

Where exactly where you thinking...? I'd have to ask Himeko if she's okay with us making a stop.

Well, we wouldn't want to ruin anyone's schedule with this little trip... So why don't we put you through a simulation of sorts?

[Mare was busy eating some of the cake before she goes "?!", then she happily claps her hands together.]

Ohhhh! Good thinking! We can hook her up to Marchen Garten! As long as there's a network in this ship, then we can make it happen~!

[ Stelle looks confused. ]

Is that like the Simulated Universe...?

[vandalizer]

Huh? "Simulated Universe?"

[For the first time in a while, Van's eyes widen and reflect a certain innocence and curiosity over discovering something new.]

Uh, I think it's your turn to do a little information sharing here.

Yeah. It's a game that Herta made. It's basically what it says on the tin: you'd go into a simulation of an area, where you'd explore and experience varying things. I thought it'd be similar to what you just mentioned.

[vandalizer]

[Both Van and Mare look at each other with a simultaneous "Ohhhh...!" before he speaks up again.]

Well, you ain't wrong about that. Marchen Garten is a game world that you can travel through and it functions exactly as you described. You can take down monsters while gaining various kinds of treasures.

Though the worlds it can create ain't just limited to what's already been built into the application. It can even create a level based off of your own memories.
