"Welcome to the S.S Phoenix! We hope you enjoy your stay!"

You open your eyes feeling a little stiff. The last thing you recall is seeing your planet get destroyed before a hand reached out to you--Captain's hand. You were then greeted with the same introductory phrase before receiving the keys to their brand new dorm, a device--you're told it's called the Babelfish, something that allows you to interact with others through the interdimensional network--and perhaps an extra thing or two.

You are then ushered into the onboarding area, where you can see your fellow passengers. Some foreign faces, perhaps even some familiar ones. Before you are given any time to think, however, Captain, at the head of the room, speaks up.

"Once again, welcome new guests, to the S.S. Phoenix! You may call me Captain. Today is your first day of onboarding, where you can get to learn more about us and your fellow passengers.

We are part of the Interdimensional Galactic Coalition, a system that was created to keep order and peace amongst the multiverse. This ship that you're currently in is now your new home. Consider the card that you have obtained your citizenship. However, staying here comes with a price.

As you already know, your worlds were destroyed. And we are here to help restore those worlds into proper order. But in order to do that, you must obtain Fragments. These mysterious Fragments will then power our ship's Revival Program. Those can be found in various worlds.

Now, if you have any further questions, now is the time to ask."

And she opens up the floor for questions--any questions.

[ OOC: Welcome, everyone, to a long form PSL in the form of Fragment Space! The premise of this is that your character's universes have been destroyed -- player's choice on the how -- and they have been rescued by the Captain to adventure to various worlds.

This PSL will very much be an exploration/mystery setup, with various types of settings that I will work with players on.

In terms of moving things along, I will try to make sure that things move smoothly at least once a month. If you need to contact me for any questions/comments/concerns, please ping me either on plurk (tsundereban) or Discord (tsunderebans)! As this is an open PSL for my timeline, characters who participate may also interact with each other if they'd like, or keep things separate. I'm willing to run with things either way. ]

Which I promise I'm going to clean up and put back in, I swear. I'm a responsible citizen, honest!

[Says the girl who's done nothing but freewheel her way through military life...]

[ Almost a little too quickly: ]

I've never seen that before in my life. If it was in the trash, it probably had a good reason for it.

Eh? But it sounds like it is yours...?

[moepcs]

[ Her answer is immediate and clipped as she digs her nails into her skin. There's something harsh in every syllable she speaks. ]

You're wrong. Why would you think that?

[teheperinko]

Seriously? And I went through all that trouble, too...

[...she doesn't miss the harshness in the girl's voice, though -- maybe she should pivot to something else. It's clearly not a good idea to press this topic, at least not out here.]

Well, anyway, what're you here for then?

[moepcs]

Can't a girl just wander around the p--

[ There's coldness in her voice for a moment before she stops, freezes up for a second and straightens up.

When she speaks up again, there's something way too bright in the way she speaks. It's too obvious but Ruka will especially be able to tell how how her voice pitches several octaves higher. ]

Perfect ship that I call home. I also wanted to greet the new arrivals.

Well, that's perfect timing then! You wouldn't mind giving us a guided tour, right? I mean, it'd be nice to have landmarks and stuff. This is a pretty big place and all...

[Yuki just mouths a quiet "I see it," in understanding before deciding to just have Ruka take the reigns a bit.]

We probably should introduce ourselves first. I'm Izumi Yuki, and this is Kayamori Ruka.

[ Thankfully, her voice seems to go back to its normal, lower tones, the girl taking a sigh as she clutches onto her chest for a moment before speaking again. ]

Izumi and Kayamori, then.

[ ... ]

... Sorry. I don't have a name to give you.

[What.]

That won't do at all! Can we call you something then? It doesn't feel right just calling you goth-emo girl all the time.

[She's really hung up on this, huh-]

[ Again, she tugs at her bangs. ]

It doesn't really matter, anyway. Although if you were digging in the trash, you probably want to find the communal baths, first.

[She lets out a heavy sigh, shoulders sagging a little as she takes out the devices that they've gotten on arrival.]

Looks like there's a map on here, at least that shows the locations.

It isn't as if I didn't have a name from the start. I've just simply forgotten it.

[ She says it so casually that it's difficult to tell how much she cares about it... ]

The bathing area is pretty close to here, at least. And they provide free towels and the rest. Want to keep people clean, I guess.

[ Ruka, please.

The girl gives her a rather quizzical, wide-eyed look for a moment before she finds herself laughing. ]

You're really going to ask someone you don't know the name of, a person you just met to go into the communal baths with you --

[ She glances over in Yuki's direction, who seems to have a baffled look in her eyes, but is also sighing heavily before continuing: ]

Sure, why not? If we're already going there, might as well. Can't say I've gone with someone in a long time, honestly.

Awesome!

[Bonding with new people through bathing together is something she would consider one of her hidden talents.

This is probably not something to be proud about, and yet here they are, going off to the ship's baths to do exactly that.]
