"Welcome to the S.S Phoenix! We hope you enjoy your stay!"

You open your eyes feeling a little stiff. The last thing you recall is seeing your planet get destroyed before a hand reached out to you--Captain's hand. You were then greeted with the same introductory phrase before receiving the keys to their brand new dorm, a device--you're told it's called the Babelfish, something that allows you to interact with others through the interdimensional network--and perhaps an extra thing or two.

You are then ushered into the onboarding area, where you can see your fellow passengers. Some foreign faces, perhaps even some familiar ones. Before you are given any time to think, however, Captain, at the head of the room, speaks up.

"Once again, welcome new guests, to the S.S. Phoenix! You may call me Captain. Today is your first day of onboarding, where you can get to learn more about us and your fellow passengers.

We are part of the Interdimensional Galactic Coalition, a system that was created to keep order and peace amongst the multiverse. This ship that you're currently in is now your new home. Consider the card that you have obtained your citizenship. However, staying here comes with a price.

As you already know, your worlds were destroyed. And we are here to help restore those worlds into proper order. But in order to do that, you must obtain Fragments. These mysterious Fragments will then power our ship's Revival Program. Those can be found in various worlds.

Now, if you have any further questions, now is the time to ask."

And she opens up the floor for questions--any questions.

[ OOC: Welcome, everyone, to a long form PSL in the form of Fragment Space! The premise of this is that your character's universes have been destroyed -- player's choice on the how -- and they have been rescued by the Captain to adventure to various worlds.

This PSL will very much be an exploration/mystery setup, with various types of settings that I will work with players on.

In terms of moving things along, I will try to make sure that things move smoothly at least once a month. If you need to contact me for any questions/comments/concerns, please ping me either on plurk (tsundereban) or Discord (tsunderebans)! As this is an open PSL for my timeline, characters who participate may also interact with each other if they'd like, or keep things separate. I'm willing to run with things either way. ]

[Lorraine Tyrentia Hamilton is not yet in a maid outfit. Instead, she is staring at the clothing section of the shop and the different designs and looking more than a little flustered.

See, Lori grew up on pirated anime and a lot of it. Which means she is highly exposed to maid tropes of all manner of varieties, even by the standards of anime-world superhero types like herself.

And that means the idea of being a maid or being served by one has been one of those things she's dreamed about without necessarily noticing she was dreaming about it until now.]

Wait. Maid day's actually a thing?

[Blink blink. Her poor lesbian brain is dealing with some seriously crossed wires right now, and now it's YOUR opportunity to make it worse!]

[And here's one who is already in a maid dress herself, looking rather confident.]

Erm. R-right. I just. Never ran into this outside of anime before and it's like. Er. Obviously different in person. Right?

[Lori's own issues with her appearance may be influencing her as she continues to glance around.]

Pretty different. The one maid I know doesn't wear a dress like this.

Ruka'd know more 'bout her than me, though.

Do we have a maid-themed supervillain thing going on here, or is it just this place being weird again?

As far as I can tell, the outfits themselves're hexed or somethin' and it ain't strong or malicious.

... I mean. I guess? It'd depend on what's backing it, of course. Sorry, I've just had to interact with Fae before, so magic stuff is... A bit of a loop-throw for me.

I ain't used ta magic stuff, so if this's magic, it's new to me. The shopkeeper should know 'bout it, right?

[It's happened with swimsuits before and they got answers, so maybe--]

[She missed the swimsuit incident apparently. Probably for the best.]

[Well the Weird Swimsuits was back in her home world, so--]

OI!!!!! SHOPKEEPER!

[And as if on cue, there's a flash of blue static sparkles before Anais appears.]

Yes? Did you call for me?

Yeah. We wanted ta know 'bout these maid outfits.

Oh... They're made to be worn all day on maid day. They have special powers to make everyone an exceptional maid!

... That is... A very concerningly specific thing for them to do.

[Lori blinks.]

But... Er, fair I guess. Still not sure what I'd actually wear...

Could be worse. Well, maybe ya should choose a few ya like first?

Like, this is one of those things I never thought was going to be an 'in context' problem for me, so...

[She definitely seems nervous about something about this.]

So if I'm going to commit to this bit I have no idea what to do.

Like, if you're gonna do a maid outfit, it's gotta be one that matches your personality, right? Which is kinda odd since most maid cafes use a uniform look but everywhere else it's like, "what skirt length" "tights or no" there's too many questions to consider!!!

Well, yeah, but this ain't a maid cafe.

Yep. Which means it's up to me to come up with the details.

I'm not used to thinking about this much.

[... She's jeans and a button up shirt type and frankly neither is the best pressed.]

I guess I could help a little. . . Do ya have a favorite color?

... Color. Right. That's part of this I forgot. Colorized releases of manga were even rarer on the Rogues than in Japan.

[She quickly thinks. OKay, gotta go for referencing her herowear.]

I mean, if nothing else, staying on brand using black with purple and yellow trim. Music symbols would be nice but I'd be amazed if I found something that precise.

So something at least black and purple... I dunno if we can find the third color, but that's a place ta start.

Y-yeah. Um. Full leggings for sure. There's scars.

[You can actually see the ones on her arms... And one along her forehead and what looks like small ones on her neck. They're faded, but present.]

That makes the skirt length pretty wide open, doesn't it? I normally do, like, thigh-length, so keeping to that seems good...

That should be easy 'nough. So the rest would just be... style, right? Guess that'll depend on what they have that matches those colors.

That seems reasonable, yeah. Can't exactly be freely choosing... Especially if I luck into something with music symbols. Kinda my brand.
