[ You've managed to escape. You've even managed to get out completely unscathed, regardless of the fact that Rei has completely disappeared. The cops did arrive on the scene soon after, thanks to a certain someone, especially considering the fact that they had no idea where they were, or how to leave. But Rei gave her word, so be grateful.

Mitsuki's probably on her way to jail now for her crimes, but if Phoenix manages to ask the police for any trace of Rei Hazama, he'll simply get the answer of: "Rei Hazama never existed in that place."

So all's good in the world for now at least, regardless of the oncoming danger that may occur by the time he gets back to the office. ]

[ Aaaand she's off to the land of coffee making! Which isn't hard when you have a machine that does most of the work for you. ]

I don't know. It seems that she might have channeled me subconsciously.

[ She's not certain about the details, but she knows for a fact that she was channeled. ]

That's... odd. She usually does that when she's stressed out about something. Maybe it's just the fact that I got abducted for a while? Ah... I should probably explain about that, huh.

[ Yes, please explain. ]

Ah, yeah, where to begin...

[And so he goes into detail: about how he'd gone for a drink with someone who said he wanted to build some professional ties. How he'd woken up in some sort of warehouse with a bunch of bodies and a handicapped girl. About Rabbit Doubt, and the killing of liars. How one girl who he thought was a serial killer was a brainwashed victim, and another he'd thought was an innocent victim was an insane manipulator. Eventually, he finishes, shaking his head.]

To be honest, I'm a little terrified. She's still out there, and she's made it pretty clear she's going to keep going. I just wish I had an idea of exactly how far-reaching her influence is.

[ She listens rather carefully, nodding after each point to assure him that he was listening. But the further he goes, the more worried she gets. ]

I see. I can't really help you much, but I can count on you to protect Maya when it comes down to it. If you don't know how far reaching her influence is, then you just need to pursue the truth and figure that out on your own.

[He nods.]

That's definitely the intention. Still, it's weird that she summoned you right when she was making coffee. I mean, why would she even... do...

[He eyes the cup. He hasn't touched it.]

...No. That can't... It's just gotta be the circumstances, I'm feeling paranoid or something...

[He massages his temples.]

Hm?

[ Her eyes gaze towards him, and then the cup, sighing. ]

Maya didn't put anything strange in there, if you're wondering.

Yeah, but...

[Something seems to occur to him, and he continues staring at the cup.]

Mia... has Maya EVER been the type inclined to make a cup of coffee or anything for someone without getting some for herself?

[ She's silent at those words. She does know Maya rather well, being her sister and all. Although Mia did check her surroundings rather carefully when she was channeled, she did find this rather suspicious. ]

Maya was never one to drink or make coffee. And she would have gotten some for herself, too. I didn't know if she was finished with this since I assumed that this was the only thing that was needed when she was channeled.

[dolosa]

[ And there's the phone. It's ringing incessantly. You better pick it up Phoenix, because Mia sure isn't going to, considering that she's supposed to be, well, dead. ]

[wright_idea]

[Phoenix starts. He looks at Mia, a slow feeling of dread spreading in his stomach, and then slowly, carefully, reaches out for the phone.]

...Wright Law Offices. This is Phoenix speaking. May I help you?

[dolosa]

Surprise. Did you miss me?

[wright_idea]

[If Mia didn't suspect something was wrong before, she's got to now. Phoenix has gone white as a sheet.]

Rei... Hazama...

[ A stern voice, followed by a 'what's going on' serious look. ]

[dolosa]

That's right.

[ She lets out an innocent chuckle. ]

I hope you enjoyed my present. Oh, it's not poisonous, by the way. I promised myself I wasn't going to kill you immediately. Also, you might want to look outside your window.

[wright_idea]

[He nods slightly to Mia then freezes, his eyes shifting over towards the window. Someone had once witnessed a terrible event here, in this office. No way...]

[dolosa]

[ He might not be able to tell from the distance, but right across the street, there's a window that's open, the lights on. Standing right there is a young girl with purple hair, speaking on her cellphone without a care in the world, even though her enemy is right across from her. ]

If you believed that I wouldn't keep my eyes on you, then you're absolutely wrong. You should be grateful, though; for I was the one who called the police to send you home.

[wright_idea]

[And got your former "wolf" arrested to boot, apparently.]

Maya... you didn't do anything... no, you couldn't do anything! She's too strong for that! And the timing... you're just psyching me out, aren't you?

I'm not. She made you black coffee, didn't she? With no sugar. But don't worry, Wright-san. I couldn't fully convert her. And the reason is because you still exist.

[It's like a stake has pierced his heart. Maya... was brainwashed. When, or how, he couldn't say. But all his attempts to get out and save her...]

This is it, isn't it? This is why you wanted me to cut contact with her. Because you knew her bonds were too strong. Because you wanted to weaken her to make her fully one of your "wolves." I... How long...?
