but the changes are pretty drastic. he's a lot more self-centered about his goals and cares more about personal justice > what's Actually Right

What do you think about this large parfait? It's too big for one person to eat by themselves, but I don't want to order it if it'd be too weird to share.

[Since they barely know each other and all. However it's actually not too big for Kaname to eat by herself. She's just too embarrassed to be seen eating it all alone. She points to her suggestion on the menu. The one she had intended to eat before is right above it, and is so small it's almost laughable.]

[Chidori puts in their order with the waitress that comes by. The girl gently ribs Kaname for bringing in a cute boy, but she's quick to lay off it after Kaname tells her off. When she leaves Chidori looks at Akira a little more seriously.]

So, I didn't have as much time to look up those Phantom Thieves as I wanted, but I think I'm a little more willing to take the matter seriously. What kind of targets do those Thieves take on?

[oh, he's managed to get her interest in the Thieves, huh? that's good. he can help with that.]

Shitty adults, for the most part. Like those guys would probably count for a change of heart.

[She sighs looking towards the door as she considers her options. She seems a little defeated.]

She'll have to look further into what kind of targets the Phantom Thieves have under their belt before considering putting his name up on the message boards. Can such a group really go after the person targeting her?]

[Oh. The appetizers are here. Chidori's pan fried dumplings are placed in front of her, and Akira gets the spicy grilled edamame. Following that the nabe dish is placed in the middle of their dining table as it rests on the small portable stove that keep the pot holding the food warm. Tare is also made available to them.

Kaname doesn't even bother finishing her sentence. She's already so entranced by their meal that she wants to focus on it.]

[because of him, huh. he finds himself a little prideful of that, and that's the way it should be. having the credit for someone believing in the Phantom Thieves - in their group - brings him such delight that he couldn't simply call it boring.

but then the appetizers are here and he can't help but stare in a bit of dumbfounded silence for a moment.]

This looks all looks. . . [amazing? great? really fucking good] delicious, actually. Do you mind if a take a few pictures before we start? I want to send this to my friends.

[Oh. Chidori pauses and pulls her chopsticks away from the table. Her surprise is clear, but she doesn't seem upset. Mostly she's never thought about taking a picture of her meal before eating it. Then again, she only has one friend to share it with so there's no point. Besides, Kyoko was always the picture taking one out of the two.

She'll wait patiently for him.]

[A part of her is glad he likes it. Wondering if maybe he'll return if he likes the taste.]

[doing just that as he turns on the chat application on his phone to text his friends, sending the following:

[She feels a little pride knowing he likes it, but quickly feels dumb about it. Sure, she suggested they come here and she's glad her pick was good, but it's not like she cooked it herself. Why should she care? Maybe after what he did she wants to impress him? Or maybe she's drawn in by how charming he is?

Despite being so frustrated with how swayed she is by him, Kaname murmurs her own itadakimasu before joining him in eating. When the appetizers are gone and the pot of yosenabe is low the waitress brings out the large parfait. Chidori smirks upon seeing it.]

You're not finished yet, Kurusu. Time to show me what you're made of.

[This isn't actually a challenge, but speaking like it is makes Kaname more comfortable than any kind of small talk. She plucks one of the creme filled Pirouline wafers from the parfait. With the end covered in whipped cream she points it daringly at his face.]

Not going to throw in the towel, are you?

[when everything's eaten and then finally the parfait is placed on the table, he can't help but take a spoon, twirl it around in his fingers playfully smirking]

Of course not. This is just the beginning after all.

[and then he puts the spoon with a rather hearty chuckle as he takes the strawberry from the top of the parfait and immediately eats it before diving back into the whip cream himself]

[Well look at that. Those spindly fingers are good for something. She's impressed with his dexterity for a moment before taking a bite of the wafer on the whipped cream end. After finishing off the wafer she dives into the parfait with him.

When they make it to the bottom with one spoonful left Chidori goes for it. Even if it means both of their spoons collide as they dive in.]

Is this where our budding friendship dies?

[She taps his spoon with her own purposefully this time before retracting from the bowl. He can have it. He did save her after all, and she works here. It's fine. She'll just lick her spoon clean and watch to see his reaction.]

[he can't help but chuckle just a little bit]

I think you should leave the heart stealing to the Phantom Thieves. But if you want a serious answer? I'm a bit of a challenge.

[he is absolutely taking that last bite though]

[Chidori actually didn't expect a serious answer to her joke. She's a bit stunned by her own competitive nature that makes her want to blurt out, "Want to test that?" but she stifles it by biting on her bottom lip. While she considers her next words, Kaname places her spoon in the now empty bowl.]

Oh? That makes us two of a kind. You have the pleasure of knowing Jindai High's most eligible bachelorette nobody can date.

[Not that they'd ever want to. Her personality is volatile, and unpredictable. She's loud, direct, and far too intimidating for most of her peers. In fact most of her friends are superficial save one girl.

Kaname fishes out the money to pay for the bill, and sets it on the table.]
