❤ voice test post

- hey guys it's ya girl len here with a open voice-testing post (please save me) for akira kurusu / ren amamiya (shrugs at protag names) from persona 5. . . except that he's from the "good" ending where he sells his soul (okay not Literally Sell His Soul, but close enough) to the god of control, yaldabaoth so that he can save the world from ruin and make the phantom thieves great again aka selfish justice and desires. yeah, that's a thing.
- he's very much the same guy in some ways. he plays up the quiet an unassuming act, but will act cocky and confident as Joker
- but the changes are pretty drastic. he's a lot more self-centered about his goals and cares more about personal justice > what's Actually Right
- he also doesn't really give a flying shit about other people, but he'll pretend he does
- while he doesn't murder people because Phantom Thief Creed, he absolutely would murder a guy if he was given the option to because nobody would give a shit?? he's in control now
- HAREM ROUTE because he's that kind of asshole
- all of his personas are Broken and OP as hell because again That Kind of Asshole, but he does not have his endgame persona, satanael
- literally fused away arsene the first chance he got, sorry buddy
- he actually fought both sae and akechi solo.
- he maxed out everyone's confidants. he also has max stats, including kindness?? even though his real personality is that he's a dick?
- only half cared that akechi died. he's just Disappointed that he doesn't have a ~rival~ anymore. phantom thieves need rivals, damn it
- will make a Deal with practically anyone if it means that he benefits off of it.
- gets Bored real fucking easily now. he'll still shitpost and stuff but it's not as fun anymore???
- random scenario
- hurt/comfort
- murdergame au (let him be a mastermind!! or participate in a murdergame, i'm good w/ either)
- groundhog day / timeloops
- picture prompt
- hypnotism meme
- rainy day
anyway, a few things to note about this iteration:
and that's basically it. i'm willing to play this version against other Akira/Rens (honestly, give me doubles, I LOVE THAT SHIT) and various other Persona users, whether they're from different games or different timelines of P5 (look, seriously, give me True Ending P5 members) too or AUs? come at me, i'm ripped.
as for scenarios, i'm willing to do stuff with mementos or having him go into palaces although honestly i can work with people making an Attempt to go into ren's palace too since he'd probably have one now, although it's definitely not gonna be Easy. and i can go w/ text posts (i.e. tfln or whatever) but if you're especially stuck? have some prompt ideas below this. (but you don't need to use those if you'd prefer something else) i'm here for you, fam.
♠️ GEN PROMPTS.

[She'll add a bit of cream and sugar to taste, but otherwise it smells great. Kaname curls her fingers around the cup to feel the warmth of the hot coffee before even thinking about drinking it.]
So, why do you want to know their names? Thinking about calling the police, or playing vigilante?
[Reminds her of a certain cartoon she would sometimes see on the television when she lived in New York.]
no subject
he's just saying human.]
"Curiosity killed the cat," [he quotes with a bit of a breathy laugh.] And I suppose playing the vigilante would be the closest thing you could call it.
no subject
But Kaname doesn't have the type of self preservation skills to know to keep her nose out of it. She leans forward.]
Oh, really? And why answer so honestly?
[She's intrigued. Like a moth to a flame her curiosity has always gotten the better of her. Even if it means the end result isn't in her favor.]
no subject
it seems to be some sort of forum with a bunch of messages.
hm.]
Because of this. [it seems to talk about some sort of... phantom thieves? the phantom thieves of hearts?] Apparently there's a group known as the "Phantom Thieves of Hearts" that have become rather popular as of late. In fact, there was news recently that the police withdrew the arrest warrant on them. Apparently if you write down the full names of people who have done something wrong and they'll change their heart.
[he seems... strangely pleased to talk about this? almost amused.]
Want to give it a shot?

[She gently sips at her coffee. The smooth flavor and the warm liquid soothe her from all the anxiety of the chase earlier. He'll see her expression soften, and her shoulders relax.]
no subject
They're good people. One of their first targets was an asshole teacher that was both abusing and sexually harassing his students. They managed to get him to confess in front of the entire school, actually. And it escalated from there.
[aaaas for her second question:]
Quite frequently.
1/2
Again her curiosity gets the best of her. Despite his playful warning she still has questions. Besides... he's kind of cute. There's no harm in sticking around and chatting him up a bit more. This is worlds better than small talk anyway.]
So you either get a thrill from it, or you're the kind of person who benefits from it. Or, option three, you know them.
no subject
Don't worry about answering, and you can keep the change. I'll give these Phantom Thieves a consideration, just because you seem so enthused about them. Who can I say sent me their way?
no subject
although he's caught a little off guard when his glasses are suddenly pushed upward, grey eyes widening for a flicker of a second before he tugs at a loose bang idly.]
Thanks. [he's being polite and friendly, at least!] And it's Kurusu Akira. And might I get the name of the lovely lady that I helped out today?
1/2
[She gives him a wave goodbye, and leaves his shop.]
no subject
Nothing else is provided because she doesn't have the time to add more. Her phone is taken from her, and destroyed. The men who had followed her into the cafe waited for her around the corner, stalked her a few streets down, and grabbed her. Now they're dragging her out of their car to tie her to a chair.]
no subject
this person needs help now, and what better than to play superhero? he can go into Mementos on his own later. he's powerful enough to stop some measly shadows.
it takes him some time, but eventually Akira's here, having rushed by foot (and train) as he stares down the men; they might be familiar faces, but Akira himself was forgettable, a face that you'd see almost anywhere.]
Hey. Let go of her.
[his words are insistent, a demand. it's clear he won't take no for an answer.]
no subject
Oh yeah? Who is gonna make us? An army of you?
Two of the guys weren't even there to meet him the first time, but even if Akira wasn't forgettable they wouldn't give much effort toward trying to remember him. He wasn't too big of an obstacle before, after all.
Chidori had been struggling, but when Akira makes his entrance she stills. Her awe is clear because she didn't expect anybody to show up.]
...You came.
no subject
[the two words that spill out of Akira's lips are clipped and full of venom, eyes narrowed]
You shouldn't be bullying girls to begin with. And I will be the one to handle it if I have to.
no subject
Oh no, it's not bullying. We're just teaching her a valuable lesson. She's still young after all. Just like you. Want to learn her lesson too?
The man standing in the middle gives an awkward and lecherous smile as his eyes rove over Akira's body. Perhaps his fun might just double tonight.
Meanwhile Kaname has begun to struggle again. She kicks one guy in the face, but the young man behind her has managed to bind her wrist with zip-ties.]

Takahashi himself pulls out a blade. He calls out to his friends to try and get them out of the way. As he rushes in with his small knife Kaname kicks out her leg to trip him up. The man loses his grip on the weapon. He falls face first as the knife clatters on the ground. Takahashi howls in pain from his broken nose getting hurt yet again.
At this point Chidori has moved around enough to free herself from the chair, but her wrists are still together behind her back... At least if she has enough time uninterrupted she can probably get to her feet.]
no subject
[his words are forceful and almost a growl under his breath, unrelenting in his movements as the two other men try to pry him away, managing to grab him by the arms. even if they've managed to bind his arms, it isn't as if he doesn't have legs to use to kick them away with ease because alarm bells are immediately turning on because he does not like being touched by adults, especially ones that are attempting to take him down in ways that remind him of a time when he was weak and he wants absolutely none of it.
once he manages to get himself away, he is immediately going straight for Chidori to undo the bonds of her wrists and grab her by the arm while they still have a chance, tugging at her once that's said and done, a silent Let's go.]
no subject
Chidori won't stop running until they're a few blocks away from the abandoned car garage. She reaches out to tug on Akira's sleeve. Trying to get his attention while she catches her breath. She has had to run longer distances before, but the knife worried her enough that she's a bit too worked up to pace herself.]
H-hey.
no subject
with persona powers, but those don't work here so they don't really count.
but when he hears her voice and manages to slow down his pace, he speaks up, trying to even things out]
Hey. Sorry I'm not the Phantom Thief you were looking for, but I saw your message on the boards, and...
[he had to come. maybe a good amount of his reasoning was selfish, because he knew that maybe, if he saved her, he could potentially bond with her. and bonds? are important. bonds are what allowed him to get girlfriends.
and maybe a part of him still believes in that personal justice of his.
to save other people who are being treated like garbage by adults.]
no subject
Who apologizes for saving someone? I was just going to say you were pretty cool back there! I need to thank you.
no subject
maybe that's why he ended up separating the two in his mind, saying that. it was supposed to be Joker that saved her. not Akira.
Akira was just an ordinary person who kept to the shadows and watched, so when she actually thanks him, he can't help but actually react for once. it's been so long since he's been able to have a genuine reaction instead of one that he forces out because he's gotten so bored of the world.
eyes shoot wide open and he just.
stares behind the glasses.
be smooth, Kurusu, he tells himself as he finally speaks up]
It was nothing, really. I'm just glad that you're safe from them.
no subject
Well, maybe you should let me take you out to eat sometime. It might not make us even, but it'll close the gap a little!
no subject
he knows he'll have to deal with them later. as soon as possible once he splits from her.]
Why not make that sometime "right now". . . ?
[finding a restaurant to eat would be very good right now.
and being surrounded by more people would be a hell of a lot safer than their current situation, too. win-win, clearly.]
no subject
[His response gives her pause. Mostly because no one in her life has been that smooth. Perhaps maybe one guy could have been, but he kissed her without consent so all attempts at smoothness have been disqualified.
Her arm slips away from his, but she agrees.]
Sure. I work at a place not too far from here. I can vouch for the food.
[It's almost cafe-style, but you can order actual meals instead of just treats meant to be paired with tea or coffee. The only downside is he'll get to see the just-one-step-away from maid outfit her uniform is, but there are worse things.]
