[Truth be told, she was honestly not sure if she should have accepted his invitation to join «ALfheim Online», but it was worth a shot. She had never played a VRMMO before, yet she knew that it would be very different from the other games she played back in middle school when she was a hikkikomori. Character creation was the thing that probably took the most out of her. There were just so many choices to choose. . .

But if she was going to use this account as her main (she could always make another, for trolling purposes) it would be for the best to keep things simple -- which is why she decided that her avatar should look similarly enough to her actual self. It would probably help him find her easier when she logged in.

The only exception to the rule was the race— choosing a Cait Sith, which meant that she had an additional cat ears and tail that matched the color of her raven colored hair. And the name she chose for her avatar was also rather simple; she took the first character of her last name and switch to katakana to type out the two characters for her intended handle: Ine.

Now all she had to do was wait for the idiot to show up in the first town that she was spawned in. Just because she was familiar with games didn't necessarily mean that she didn't need help, especially in something that caused her to be fully immersed in the game like this. Letting out a self-deprecating sigh, fingers ran through her hair as she crossed her arms over her chest, taking quick glances around as the cat ears that rested atop her head twitched in anticipation.]

Geez. He better not take too long, or else I'll kick his ass into the next world!

[As if that were possible, considering that in this world, she would be considered a level one newbie and would barely be able to defeat him. He had experience, after all...]

That's how it usually starts...

[Kirito gives a shrug, smiling some as he lets go of her. He doesn't think too much about the two of them being so close, how his arms had been around her tightly. That's not the important thing, right? She doesn't really care, so why should he?

In any case, he just glances towards the NPC and nods.]

It should be easy enough. I'll be right here.

[Although Inaba was thinking about it, she pushes those thoughts aside as she goes and accepts the quest, nodding to herself and to the NPC before glancing over her shoulder to ask him a quick question.]

Hey, Kirito. Do you think if I just whack the rats with the staff it'd be enough to kill them? Or would I have to use magic instead?

[Priorities. . .]

These first quests are more about learning your limitations...

[The swordsman gives her a shrug. He watches as she moves to the NPC and accepts the quest. It's been a very long time since he's accepted this same quest, but he knows that a new character can handle it no matter what their class is. Even if she uses a staff, she could finish it easily. It's set up so that any person, melee or ranged, can do the quest.]

Maybe a combination of both...?

[Her companion gives a shrug as he folds his arms across his chest. It's up to her to finish it on her own.]

Hmm, I guess I could try doing both. Maybe the karate I learned from Yui would help. . . Anyway, I'll be back.

[Probably. She shouldn't have too much trouble for a beginner's quest. At least she won't come back messy since it's a VRMMO.

[It's merely a starter quest, so he doesn't think too much about letting her go off on her own. Since he's so much higher than she is, he would definitely be at her side if it were a higher quest. It's just a noob quest, however, so he doesn't think too much about letting her do what she needs to do by herself.

Besides, someone might get the wrong idea if he was rushing to Inaba's aid all the time. It's not like he likes her or anything!

Too much...

He gives her a shrug.]

I'll be here.

[And then a nod. It shouldn't take too long to finish the quest, after all.]

[She nods at him, her back turned before she rushes off for the quest. It will definitely take her around five to ten minutes, but she will return, looking rather pleased with herself, but slightly out of breath when she does return, smiling at him as she throws a victory sign.]

Haa. . . haa. . . I'm back, Kirito.

[Laughing hollowly, she falls to her knees, exhausted.] Hahaha... that was really fun.

[Kirito remembers those quests. There is always a rat killing quest in almost every MMO, and ALO is no different. She shouldn't have too many problems with this quest. He smiles a little as she takes off. Then he heads over to lay down in the shade of a large tree, pillowing his hands behind his head and closing his eyes.

They pop back open when he hears her return. Still on his back, he looks at her from his spot for a bit before finally sitting up. She looks tired, but she also looks like she had fun.]

Hehhh? Ine-san, slayer of rats. I guess you're getting the hang of it now, huh? What do you want to do now?

I'm obviously the best slayer of rats there is. You can call me the Queen Rat Slayer! I wanted to kill those rats after what they tried to do...

[Grimacing a little at the brief reminder of what just happened just moments ago, she manages to hop right back up onto her feet, dusting her skirt off as she hums to herself, mulling things over in her head.]

I was thinking maybe a little break should be in order. We could stroll around the town and maybe do some other things. Taking in the scenery is also a good experience, don't you think?

Mh, it's not always about quests, you're right.

[Though, a battle-crazed idiot like Kirito really likes the fighting. That's what Klein had called him before... battle-crazed idiot. He really did enjoy combat way too much, and he almost looked insane at times when he was really going berserk.

Shifting, he hops up to his feet easily and dusts himself off before nodding and moving to her side.]

Maybe you should lead. If I lead, I'll show you only the things that interest me, so it's important for you to enjoy for yourself.

So basically you would end up showing me all of the weapon shops, right?

[Her words roll off her tongue easily, swinging her hands behind her head as she brings to walk slowly, relieved that he doesn't ask her what happened during the quest. Actually, she's glad he doesn't ask.

Because it was a very embarrassing quest and she's just relieved that he didn't see it because he would probably be laughing at her.]

I'm not really the type of person to really care where I go, but I kind of want to just look around and see where the wind takes me. [A beat, as she realizes something.] Not literally of course -- I don't want to fly face first into a building.

[Her remark almost makes him laugh. He just smiles in amusement and nods, walking alongside her as he remembers his first few attempts at flight. There were a few buildings that had a Kirito-shaped hole in them because he didn't know how to land. Of course he wouldn't really be admitting that to her anytime soon. It was much more fun to watch her try to figure out how to land.

After a few moments of silence as he slides his hands behind his head, he glances over at his companion.]

Anyways, you didn't tell me how the quest went, Queen Rat Slayer-san.

Maybe that's because I don't want to tell you.

[She sticks her tongue out playfully towards him as she takes a few skips forward, giggling to herself in mild amusement. Although there are absolutely no qualms about telling him how the quest went, she wants to tease him a little bit before telling him how exactly it went.]

[When she skips ahead, he sighs a little and shakes his head. Still, it's nice to see her having fun. She didn't seem like the type that had enough fun, which was part of the reason he asked her to join him in the VRMMO world. He's glad to see her like this, and he's glad he has a partner to go around and quest with.]

Playing the mysterious card? Ine-san is so mean...

[He speeds up so he can walk alongside her again. Then he leans over close to her ear to speak directly into it.]

Hahh, mysterious is my trick. Choose another one.

[Inaba's Cait Sith ears perk up slightly when he leans in close, causing her to almost screech in response, letting out a frustrated huff as she walks a little faster, if only to hide the flush of her cheeks.]

No way. I refuse. I'm going to whatever I want, and not even you can stop me, Kirito.

[She adds a skip to her step, trying to get ahead of him before turning around to face him with an innocent smile on her lips, giggling as she ran a hand through her hair.]

Anyway, hurry up or else you're going to get left behind. [Not that she doubts that he could catch up to her.]

[Once more, he lets out a sigh. All he can do is shrug and move to follow her. He's not too worried about being left behind. Not only is he fast enough to catch up to her easily, but he can also find her if he loses her thanks to his searching skill. Still, he knows she's not really being serious anyways.]

Rushing, rushing. So much for checking out the scenery. Lead the way, Ine-san.

You've been here longer than I am -- shouldn't it be me who wants to check out the scenery?

[She skids to a stop at his words, spinning around on her heel as she marches forward, smiling wide as her tail swishes happily left and right.]

[Sometimes he couldn't help himself. With that smug attitude of hers and the teasing smiles and such, he just can't help himself. His troll mode always gets activated at full power, especially around her, and she presents the best opportunities to him all the time.

No, he's not watching her ass as she walks. He's looking at her tail swishing back and forth.]

Ine-san, you're presenting your weakspot.

[With that, he reaches out and grabs her tail and squeezes. He's heard a lot of different stories about the Cait Sith tails. Some people felt a lot of intense pleasure when their tails were squeezed while others felt pain. He was almost tempted enough to make his own Cait Sith and find out what it felt like, but he never bothered.]

Eh?

[Her ears perk up slightly and just as she's about to turn her head over her shoulder, Inaba jolts somewhat, letting out an intense, loud screech, her mixed emotions leaking out -- both flustered and angry as she jerks away from him, crossing her hands over her chest.]

What the hell was that for?! [She raises her hand, ready to flick him in the forehead because oh god that was embarrassing.]

[Kirito jumps back to escape the forehead flick, but the look on his face is one of pure amusement even if he tries to seem innocent. He doesn't do a very good job of it, however. She could consider that her initiation into the game and VRMMOs. Now she knows that the game can make some intense sensations. At least the pain absorbers get rid of the most unpleasant ones.]

Just trying to make sure Ine-san knows to always keep her guard up~

That's not-- Oi, am I allowed to report on that? I can totally report you on sexually harassing me, right? Right?!

[Anger and frustration gives way in response to his amused expression, groaning as her face turned redder than a beet, her amber brown eyes dropping as her gaze shifts uncomfortably, looking down on the ground.]

Nnnnh--? Sexually harassing? I pulled your tail is all!

[She could report him, and he doesn't know if she's serious or not. It was a joke, but he could get banned or something for awhile! She's taking it the wrong way and acting too crazy about it! In any case, he waves his hands a little in front of him in surrender.]

Ine-sannnnn, have mercy.

Hmm.

[She hums inquisitively, watching his reactions as she notes that he thinks that she's being serious. Interesting. She could probably take advantage of it. Or rather, she probably is going to take advantage of it.]

Should I have mercy on you or not, I wonder. . . Maybe if you do me a favor, I'll forgive you.

[She is getting full of herself. If he wasn't wary of actually being reported, he'd probably tell her. He still looks a little off-balance as his breath catches in his throat and he strokes his chin idly. What sort of favor could she even want? She better not ask for any of his rare items or for him to buy her something with his hard-earned money.

Finally, he eyes her a little more and then slumps some.]

... Well? I can't give a favor if I don't know what it is.

[She might be getting a little full of herself, but that's totally fine. Swinging her arms playfully, she takes a step closer to him, staring at him with a serious look in her eyes.]

Just stay there, Kirito.

[She furrows her brow in frustration, if only just a little as she narrows her eyes directly at him, taking a few more steps closer to him.]

Don't move an inch.

[Since she doesn't tell him what she wants, he has no clue what's on her mind. Then she starts to move closer, and he tenses up and straightens up at the same time, blinking as he goes rigid. He doesn't know what to think about that serious look in her eyes, and he doesn't know what to think about her getting closer and closer to him as well.]

Th-This... what sort of favor is this?

[He grits his teeth but stays very still.]
