CHARACTER NAME: Maya Fey
CHARACTER AGE: 19
CANON ORIGIN: Ace Attorney
CHRONOLOGY: post-Professor Layton vs Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney
CLASS: Hero
HOUSING: I have absolutely no preference, really.
BACKGROUND: Wiki for the main game and wiki for the crossover.
I'm considering the crossover as canon due to the many references throughout the game -- there's nothing that contradicts any of the later games, really, as long as you don't count the Bonus Cases, which aren't canon. Maya's role in the series is being a main foil for the protagonist of the Ace Attorney games, Phoenix Wright games, assisting him when he's in trouble as well as being a major plot point in several of the games, having been a defendant at least once per game along with the fact that she has growth throughout each every game due to learning more things about her family, something that she didn't know before. If you need any further clarification,
PERSONALITY:
POWER: Maya, being a woman of the of the Fey family, is able to channel spirits into her body, which is considered canon. And because she is a spirit medium, she also has the potential to spiritually charge objects with power.
If she needs an additional power, however, it would be nice to have low-level telepathy -- basically, just the ability to speak to others with her mind; she wouldn't be able to tap into other people's heads, but she'd be able to speak to others mentally instead of just having to open her mouth.

Oookay! Looks like I'm ready to take on the world!
[ She flashes a rather huge, cheeky grin towards the camera, looking rather confident as she leans in close. It's clear that she's not all that great at technology as her face is way too close. But she soon takes a step back, realizing that they wouldn't be able to see her in all of her glory. ]
Hello, everyone -- as you can probably tell, I'm new here, but don't count me short just yet, because this ace spirit medium's not giving up yet! Anyway, I'm Maya Fey, and like I said earlier, I'm an ace spirit medium, and you guessed it: we're totally real and not phonies at all, and besides, if there are registered heroes, spirit mediums shouldn't be uncommon, right? But wow, this place looks really advanced for 2014... even more advanced than it is back home, and it's 2019.
I mean, usually I can't even use devices like these, but the person who taught me the basics did a pretty good job in teaching me how to at least do this, though I still have to keep on pressing random buttons in order to do other things, y'know? But when you figure out what each thing does, you go "Zvarri!" and then realize what buttons do what. But wouldn't it just be easier to just label them? It would be a lot more convenient that way, don't you think?
Anyway! Since I'm totally an official hero now, does that mean I have to come up with a superhero name and costume? Sooo, what do you guys think of me using the name "Mystic Maya"? Or maybe even the "Amazing Mystic Maya"?
LOGS POST (PROSE) SAMPLE:
"I'm hungry..."
Maya moaned angrily as she plopped her whole body onto the bed with sheer annoyance and boredom written all over her her expression. She's not sure what she should do, especially since she didn't have any money to buy anything decent -- why were burgers in this place so expensive? It would be a whole lot more convenient probably if she could make her own burgers; she'd be able to make nice half-pound burgers! She did learn how to make bread back at Patty's, but it just wasn't the same.
After all, there was a very distinct difference between the two, but that didn't matter. That wasn't really all that important, truth be told, and she really just wanted something to eat. Usually she'd put things on Nick's tab or something like that, but doing that sort of thing seemed like a cop-out. But her hunger could not be contained! She had several stomachs to fill, and boy, was she gonna fill them, regardless of the ridiculously loud grumbling that was going on in her stomach, causing her to to roll and subsequently fall off of the bed with a thump, causing her to rub her head in pain before hopping right back to her feet with a hop, a determined glint in her eyes as she balled her hands into tight fists.
Okay! She's not going to lie in her room all day and do nothing. That would not do, and she wouldn't just sit still. That's not what an ace spirit medium would do. Actually, what an ace spirit medium should do is channel some spirits, but it wasn't as if she knew any dead burger chefs -- and besides, she would actually have to know their background, too; she doesn't want anything horrible to happen like the last time. Maybe that's just it, channeling was a serious business, and a lot of it had caused many people in the Fey bloodline to lose their lives.
It was a horrible, horrible thing, and Maya honestly wanted to stop thinking about it whenever her mind reeled back to those days.
No, stop it, Maya Fey! You're the Master of Kurain and the manager of Wright & Co. Law Offices, put yourself together! Slapping her cheeks with all she's got, she puffed her cheeks, knowing that the thing to do right now was remain strong and keep that smiling face up, if not for herself, but for the others around her who she cared about so deeply.
It was probably just her stomach talking, after all. Maybe after she had a bite to eat, her mind would become more clear. Then there was only one thing to do. That much was obvious.
"Alright, world, it's time for you to meet the Amazing, Great, Maya Fey!"

If you need any further clarification,
PERSONALITY:
- Maya can be described as a very optimistic girl who goes by the title of 'Mystic Maya'. In other words, she's quite optimystic. But even though she may seem like a very simple nineteen year old, there's more to her than meets the eye.
When you first meet Maya in 'Turnabout Sisters', she actually tells Phoenix that she's an acolyte (or to be more specific, a spirit medium) and even blatantly says that she's not weird, even though everyone else would think that it's quite strange for an ordinary girl to actually channel spirits. Or even think that her regular outfit is actually... normal. In fact, Maya Fey is anything but normal.
Even though she may seem a bit weird (due to the fact that yes, she can channel spirits), the mere fact that she's a spirit medium isn't the end of her very strange personality. Not at all.
In both 'Turnabout Samurai' and 'Farewell, my Turnabout', it is shown that Maya enjoys a lot of samurai-based shows that are aimed towards ten year olds. In fact, she's so enthusiastic about these shows that she'll get mad. Or even fangirl over the famous actors (at least, if they're good) who play the protagonists. And even correct people when they've got their facts about the show wrong. After all, it's only right for everyone to know the facts.
Though Maya is naturally, a spirit medium, she's also Nick's (Phoenix Wright) assistant. However, she isn't the brightest assistant, especially since she doesn't know too much about being a lawyer (In fact, the only thing that she's learned from her sister, Mia, who was a lawyer is to press a lot). But even though she may not know much about being a lawyer, she knows what is the right thing to do in a case. In fact, she helps Nick figure out the truth for justice.
In 'Farewell, My Turnabout', Maya's keen sense of justice shines through, even though not only is she kidnapped by Shelly de Killer, she's also going to die if Nick's client is pronounced guilty. She bluntly tells Nick through a written message that if Nick doesn't give Matt Engarde a guilty verdict, she'll never forgive him. Which means that yes, she prioritizes justice being served before her own life.
Speaking about Maya's own life, she does care about the many people who have helped her throughout the years, and she even admits to it in 'Bridge to the Turnabout', where she says that without these people (Nick, Godot, Pearl, Mia, and her mother), she wouldn't be alive today. She honestly loves all these people and would do anything to protect them. When she found out Godot's identity from Mia - she found out the truth: the truth that Godot was actually protecting her from getting killed by Dahila (whom Maya's mother, Mystic Misty was channeling), she decided to hide the truth in court and defend him. Basically, she cares a lot about her friends and family since they've helped her live her life to the fullest. She'll never give up on any of them and will even fight to the bitter end.
Even though she does have friends and family now, for a long time (especially after both her mother disappeared and her sister left Kurain Village) she's lived on her own. But after Mia is gone and Pearl's mother goes to jail, Maya realizes that she has to play the role of the 'older sister' to Pearl, especially since Maya is her only relative. Especially since the blood of the Feys has a really sad backstory. She just doesn't want Pearl to go through all of the pain that many of their ancestors went through.
And there's one last thing! Maya absolutely loves burgers. And miso ramen, as well. In fact, she even jokes with Nick that she has four stomaches to compensate her huge appetite.
All in all, Maya's a pretty strange girl who honestly is a good friend. She sees through people's hearts and will defend people to the bitter end, even if they did commit a crime. She may seem like an innocent, young girl on the outside, but her experiences throughout the series have shown that she has indeed matured into a proper woman, one who is truly worthy of the title of 'Master of the Kurain Channeling Technique'.
POWER: Maya, being a woman of the of the Fey family, is able to channel spirits into her body, which is considered canon. And because she is a spirit medium, she also has the potential to spiritually charge objects with power.
